Whats the point of sending a camera crew and journalist to Morocco just to put this stupid question to one of the rescuers. Quote. How challenging is this? I mean the village they are at is flat to the ground. Whats she expecting him to day?

I agree that interviews in such a situation are extremely unseemly. The pictres say it all. I particularly remember the Aberfan pictures - the horror and helplessness remain with you forever. It doesn't need an interviewer's intervention, especially with bloody stupid questions.

If it's not on a screen it's not real.

The modern world.

Sometimes there are no words, and no clever questions

Unless you've witnessed a disaster zone first hand, you can have no conception of the devastation.   Although they do their best even television broadcasts fail to really convey the reality,  That's why they do it.  To let the world know - and so they should.

I know they are there to show the world but at least ask the rescuer how he is coping with working round the, is he getting enough food, wheres he sleeping. But that question?

I remember watching a survivor of the Zebrugge ferry disaster coming ashore, blanket over his shoulders, soaking wet etc,  after just being rescued ...middle of the night, freezing cold waters.
reporter "how do you feel ?"..the survior just looked at him with a face that said What The Funicular...

Canary. When you think they've had all that time on the plane flying there. Then they had to make their way to the village in the Atlas mountains. Plenty of time to dot some questions down on a note pad. I know its not easy but these people are suposed to have brain in their head they get paid enough.

If you really think about it that's an excellent question because it offers the opportunity to tell the world what is really needed, whether food supplies are arriving for example.  The media doesn't send rookie reporters to cover this sort of thing.  They know what they're doing.

It also takes your mind off your own troubles and those of the country, the latter to the great relief of government.

Any disaster on this scale don't need an explanation of how challenging it is for the rescuers, its there to be seen in the footage, anyone that needs such must be pretty dumb. Its no more than poor journalism. (Challenging) appears to be the in word at the moment in absents of an idea / solution, used a lot by MPs when questioned on any subject.

I think naomi hit the nail on the head
