.....Kate Forbes seemed the least fanatical about "independence"....
//"Leadership rival Kate Forbes said independence would only happen when a majority of Scots had been persuaded it was the best course of action, which means "putting the economy front and centre"// - With common sense like that......

Presumably, these farcical televised debates are seen as the opportunity for the aspirants to put their plans before the poor benighted taxpaying voters. What a pity that the SNP’s obsession with the lost cause of independence still obliterates all else. It would have been refreshing if any one of them had talked about improving things for the citizens ,...

God no! I can't understand how anyone can be bothered with it.
Is it a competition between an incompetent, an unrealistic deluded dreamer, and a possibly a member of a religious sect.? What a choice!!
Presumably, these farcical televised debates are seen as the opportunity for the aspirants to put their plans before the poor benighted taxpaying voters. What a pity that the SNP’s obsession with the lost cause of independence still obliterates all else. It would have been refreshing if any one of them had talked about improving things for the citizens , with the possible exception of Kate Forbes. Of course you can’t be a member of the SNP and be seen as ambivalent on the subject of the “I” word. So they keep banging on about it while the actual issues that affect the people who live here, sail slowly down the Swanny. I would not all that good government. Just my opinion of course, other opinions are available, including the one that says “ vote with your feet, vote for a change of government at the next GE. Oh! Wait that’s a single issue election I believe
Should read
I would call that good government, sorry

ACF, excellent post, BA. You are correct they seem so blinded by a single issue. Forbes looks the most up together of them. Many seem to think that every single SNP voter is an indy, they are not and many are looking for the party to get their April in gear on other issues.
The FM debate all just sounds like static to me.

zacs...groan!
Agreed, not all snp voters support independence, but their media approach makes it seems that way . After all they are very fond of saying “ Scotland wants this that and the other” “ Scotland voted for etc etc” ignoring those up here that didn’t want and didn’t vote for it.
My point is that, being disillusioned with politics and politicians, I don’t care what stripe the elected government have , as long as they actually do something that works for us who live here. I think the SNP’s one trick pony antics get in the way of them ever doing that. Turning my mind to find something positive that have done, nothing comes to mind, but I am sure the satire wavers will correct me
TV debates eh?

Two words, Liz Truss.

Now sit down and be quiet.

I have always been against the whole idea anyway, stupid US thing that is totally unnecessary.
Who exactly should sit down and be quiet?
Actually I am sitting down
