There is a minor claim for damage on a car but before it's sorted the car is written off by a separate incident?

Easy, full payout, previous claim, water under the bridge.

TBF I thought that but the whole thing is in progress, just wondered how it was resolved administratively.
I suppose they could pay out on the first claim if it was justified, then reduce the value of the car accordingly in settling the second claim. But it might suit the owner to have only one claim made in his name.
I would think that the previous claim will come up on their computer alongside the present written off claim. So there is nothing to repair now.
