You pay Scottish Income Tax if you live in Scotland.

You may also pay Scottish Income Tax if you:

move to or from Scotland
live in a home in Scotland and one elsewhere in the UK, for example for work
do not have a home and stay in Scotland regularly, for example you stay offshore or in hotels

So Someone living in England may work in Scotland but pay lower English income tax? So is the border area of England about to become prime real estate?
Probably. You investing?
If we want emergency services and NHS we have to pay for it.

No, property is too much agro these days, they've taken the fun right out of that. I was just curious about the mechanics of having different rates in different parts of the UK.

16:04, income tax is only about 10% of revenue anyway me old china. It's weight is mainly political as KamiKwasi found out the other week.
Really, wolf? So if you break a leg they charge to take you to Hospital?
It wont affect any SNP voters.None of them work.
Zacs, you know I don't mean that. But if we want to have a good health service and police etc the government needs to get money.

I am happy living in Scotland.
I'm not an SNP voter and I haven't worked for nearly twenty years due to dodgy health.

It doesn't help making sweeping statements.

If anyone wants to move up here I have a flat to sell. :-)
;-)
So are you a taxpayer wolf?
Not prying, just wandering if those who pay it feel as happy as those that dont
I pay tax on the income that I get - early pension paid on health grounds.

I worked from the age of sixteen until I was forty and paid tax for the entire time.

The FM's suits and shoes won't pay for themselves.
Thanks wolf...Sotherton higher 42% or 47%rate don't affect you... I think it'll be popular for 95% of Scottish taxpayers who won't be affected but it will hit doctors, senior nurses, senior teachers... but maybe there happy to pay even more. Hope it dosnt discourage doctors etc living there
//But if we want to have a good health service and police etc the government needs to get money.//

The government has money (well, custody of taxpayers' money, to be more accurate) and allocates huge amounts of it to the NHS. Money is not the reason the NHS is totally unfit for purpose.
Ah, need more money dangle the Old NHS card. Bit tired that one, the NHS has too much money. I strongly suspect she is doing this to raise a war chest for her only cause.

Of course she has kept the amount just slightly above England in her usual one upmanship
@16.40.Thursday.I wouldnt broadcast the fact that you dont vote SNP,Wolf. The SNPers on here will call you all the names under the sun-England lover,UK lover,Scotland hater, yoon, etc.
Lol. Susan you may require a police escort.
