Margaret Tyzack as a civil commissioner drives a landrover with CIIIR on it... ( john Mills as the scientist)

oh come on it was only 45 y ago.. chrissakes
the illustration of No 1
shows the correct crown ( apparently they alternate as well)
( I think)
C3PO
lol

if there are any PO's whose postmasters are still out of prison
There will be new ciphers on new pillar boxes but they might be absent from Scottish ones as they do not show the former EIIR on them.
I suppose he is Charles the third of Scotland? Or does the count start with the union of the countries rather than the thrones?
The rule now is that where there have been different regnal numbers for a monarch under the Scottish and English Crowns, the higher of the two will be used.

Queen Elizabeth I of England was not Queen of Scotland so the previous Queen was the first to rule Scotland, hence pillar boxes in Scotland being targeted for showing EIIR.
As Royal Mail is now a PLC should the royal crest be on post boxes?
The Sun has published the 'likely' image of his crest https://www.thesun.co.uk/money/19764553/king-charles-new-banknotes-coins/
cypher - EIIR....CIIIR
tel has just had the right word
BUT I looked it up - crest will deffo do
they're not seriously going to replace postboxes, are they? There are still VR ones around and they do the job perfectly satisfactorily.
No it has the wrong crown
should be the one for GVIR

alternating crowns

do you know I was aged 6 when my sister laboriously explained to a doubting youngest brudda, ( er me) that GVIR was Georgivus Rex and Victoria was something else she didnt know but not Rex

I preferred George Reigns - - - at least it was English
they're not seriously going to replace postboxes, are they?
no they arent - - mainstream AB logic and speech

and no I dont have a CIIIR mask and wont be going around gold spraying the new cypher on the old reds
Hi Corbo
Queen Elizabeth I of England was not Queen of Scotland so the previous Queen was the first to rule Scotland,

this was solved in - - - 1604
usually if there is one, there is no number ( Anne Pope Francis Victoria ( yeah a beeb fluffy, said Francis the first - where do they go to skool now? deffo not Cheltenham or Ascot)

james was VI of scotland but what of England?
so Jac 04 1,1 - the first act of parliament of the righn in ENgland is Titulary Act - ye King shall be known as james VI and I

and so... come 1952 - Elizabeth, II of England, I of Scotland, and.....I of the United Kingdom ( Ha! none of you thought of that did you?) so I,II,I ?
Nope Titulary Act 1952 - honest there is one look it up
she shall be Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.

So the post box attackers, norrrrth of the borrrrrder?
they cant read probably
