The school board have sacked the police chief - how does that work? Can anyone sack anyone?

Not saying he shouldn't be sacked - just seems odd.

It does seem odd that the School can fire the Police chief.
Perhaps he was the head of the school security team.
He is chief of the police run by the school district, their own force as I understand it.

I suppose the fact that schools have to have their own police force tells you something.
They have their own police force?

// [His attorney] added that Uvalde school officials had put Mr Arredondo's safety at risk by refusing to allow him to carry a weapon to the school board meeting if he were to have attended[in person].

Sums it up nicely.
