Nearly all PCCs are aligned to a political party. But they do an entirely different job than get involved in investigations. The Police force wouldn’t allow her to interfere, and she wouldn’t do because of obvious bias.

You seem to find it suspicious that Durham has appointed a Deputy PCC as it never had one before.
The Home Office mandated them do so.

No, Dorries didn’t pursue it, I guess it was pointed out to her she’d made a colossal mistake and huge faux pas and the BBC never heard from her about the matter again, as far as I’m aware.
