His policy chief has quit over the Starmer slur

https://news.sky.com/story/munira-mirza-boris-johnsons-policy-chief-quits-over-use-of-jimmy-savile-slur-against-sir-keir-starmer-12532074

In her resignation letter she wrote :
I believe it was
wrong for you to imply this week
that Keir Starmer was personally
responsible for allowing Jimmy
Savile to escape justice.
"There was no fair or reasonable
basis for that assertion. This was
not the usual cut and thrust of
politics; it was an inappropriate
and partisan reference to a
horrendous case of child sex
abuse.
"You tried to clarify your position
today but, despite my urging, you
did not apologise for the
misleading impression you gave."

Just will not listen to anyone will he ?
At least someone else in his entourage ‘gets it’ and has done the honourable thing

When will Boris do the same ?

Nothing more boring than the leader of a country running off at the mouth when cornered is there Zacs? What is everybody thinking? Ganging up on an inadequate who's only trying his best. A chancer, a liar, a bully and now it seems, a huffy teenager in the body of a man.

// FACT, the buck stops with him as you and others have said of Boris, end of.//
Nope
should-be fact - - and isnt
Boris should be and is NOT taking responsibility for his juniors' parties. end of ( as someone delights in pouting)
Do you really believe Starmer wasn’t aware that the finger was pointing at Savile, ich? Really? A high profile figure who enjoyed the society of the rich and famous and rubbed shoulders with the influential? If he didn’t, all I can say is he wasn’t fit for office. The buck stops with the boss!

PP, Boris has said he takes full responsibility. Keep up.

SB: "So does that mean the PM or anyone else can make spurious and unfounded allegations in parliament ? " - no it means expect a fight. Did you think the PM was not going to fight back?
———-
Fight back over what ?
As everyone in the political sphere but especially his own MOs and chancellor has said it was totally irrelevant to the discussion in parliament !
It was a pathetic playground jibe that has massively backfired
Could you imagine Thatcher or Major sinking to that level ?
It is disgraceful behaviour from a PM and everyone has said so across the political divide
// PP, Boris has said he takes full responsibility. Keep up.//
no he has not
read a bit about it - - he says he has done narfin wrong
( which may be taking responsibility in your book)

we agree that what he is saying is - "let us wait for the police and Sue Gray" and this again is NOT taking responsibility

read and dont make up one liners
I’ve made nothing up. He has said he takes full responsibility.
As usual, any criticism of Johnson soon results in attacks on everybody else (Starmer, Corbyn). Anything but defend the indefensible pin-up boy.
Why not stick to the post?
you're like the playground kid who smacks someone in the face then runs to the teacher when he gets a slap back. oooo miss TTT hit me!
Who isn’t sticking to the post, atheist?

Has he ?
Link ?

This one says otherwise :

https://amp.theguardian.com/politics/2022/feb/03/boris-johnson-backtracks-on-comment-that-starmer-failed-to-prosecute-savile

Backtracking is not taking responsibility
“ Boris has said he takes full responsibility. Keep up. ”

Yes, for everyone else bring naughty boys and girls who were misbehaving behind his back
Except it’s looking and more obvious that it wasn’t behind his back at all
Naomi, you at 18:44 for example.
You've got more nerve than Nadine Dorries! :-)

Any luck with that link yet ?
You seemed quite assured
I wonder if we'll hear accusations of Johnson's aides being fifth columnists.

Lol !
No doubt they will be disloyal traitors who have stabbed him in the back

Even though Mirza has been his sidekick for 14 years

Or maybe they are getting out before the fallout of Gray 2.0 and the Met investigations

To be fair to Mirza she must be very highly principled to chuck her hand in after that long
Such is the depth of feeling over this issue I guess ?
Question Author
2 more gone !
The BYOB guy has brought his own resignation instead !

https://news.sky.com/story/two-more-senior-officials-quit-number-10-amid-partygate-fallout-12532195

It is beginning to crumble now
Bye bye Boris
alleluia!

Hope that ZM did not put his foot in his mouth during that yawn in the first reply on the thread !
Lol

What a News day eh ?
Pmsl
it may be a long wait
two more resignations - Daniel Rosenfield and Namira Mirza
indeed Namira says she is resigning
precisely BECAUSE Boris is taking responsibility and no one believes that he will
( or something)
We are in the end times I feel ;-)
