We have had one for years and years and wouldn't have anything else. First one we had, which lasted about 15 years , was a GE American style double door, then we had a Balay ( Spanish make I think ) and now we that we have moved from the house to an apartment we have a Bosch.
Aren't all fridges frost free these days?
Question Author
Seemingly not Hopkirk - and what model is your Bosch, Sam? Ta Both!

Not in the UK, Hopkirk.

Seems they still have to put another shilling in the meter.

Both my freezers are frost free, had them for years and had no problems. I have a Miele and a Hotpoint, both large.
I was shocked to find my recently purchased Hisense f/f which was rated A+ for energy is now rated F. It seems that "they" have introduced a new rating scale to allow more room for innovation at the top - so the currently most efficient products will only rate C or D on the new scale & lots of f/f are rated F.
Mine too is frost free. Mine is a Hotpoint.
We have had frost free types for many years and find them very good. We have had our Hotpoint for around 8 years. The only thing we notice is that they sometimes make loud noises but were told it is the insulation making cracking sounds as it cools.
No problems.

Many Thanks guys, Sharon, Shed, Barry, what models are your present Hotpoints - and I'll have a look at the link you gave Roadie (if I may?)!
Question Author
...and I do mean fridge freezer Barry, not just freezer!
Don't know my model number. Had it over 5 years. And yes it does make a noise at times.
Ours is a Hotpoint HTF200WP. You will need to be quite tall for this one as the wife finds it very hard to reach things on the top shelf and if they are towards the back she needs steps.
Question Author
Shed, could you give dimensions?...of the unit I mean, not your ...!
Hi, it is 60cm wide, 76 deep to the handles and 200cm high so quite big and it's a half and half as some have the fridge or freezer different sizes.
Woodelf, mine is just a freezer and is too old to be in the shops now
Question Author
Many Thanks for the dimensions Shed and looking at the link Roadie, it'll be too big for the space we've got, but Ta anyway.
We too have a Kenwood American style F/F bit in stainless steel finish.

Much classier and all cool. :-)
