I have just downloaded the NHS Covid app, not the pinging one, in case I go abroad. Should I log out of it or is it safe to stay logged in? Is an NHS Covid Passport Letter as good as the app as my husband doesn’t have a mobile phone? Sorry I have asked something similar before.

If you have already printed the letter/covid passes, please check the date. These only last for a month from the moment it has been accessed.
If the date has expired, print off the same document again.
You are going into this website and clicking the relevant travel document you want.

I haven’t printed any letter, the NHS sent me a letter also one for my husband. They are called an NHS COVID PASS. I gave them our NHS Nos and birth dates and they sent them a week later. It doesn’t say anywhere that they expire in a month. Is this the letter you are talking about?
Is there anyone you can show the letter to for there view, sometimes a fresh pair of eyes can help you spot something or hopefully confirm your undastanding.
My app code is only valid for 1 moths but is extended each month but am sure that it will run out when am due a booster, so can't see yours lasting indefinately
Maybe a nice holiday in Bognor Regis would be less stressful?

It says the Covid Letter doesn’t have an expiry date.

Curly yes, we haven’t booked anywhere abroad yet and I don’t think we will….just trying to organise in case we were …
Does it have a Q code on it?

There isn’t a large box, just three small boxes at the top of the letter with lots of small numbers but no date.
//It says the Covid Letter doesn’t have an expiry date.//
I cant see anything on the main letter which says this. Is it in the Your Questions Answered section on the back?
Anyway its up to the countrys your trying to enter. If they introduce a rule for example that all jabs must be less than 6 months old it will effectively expire at some point
Just seen on the govuk/NHS website that it says "It is also known as a COVID-19 post vaccination letter. The paper version does not have an expiry date.". This is different to the PDF you can download which does have an expiry date.
Still dosn't guarantee other countrys will allways accept it though
Does it look like the one in the link?? With a barcode at top & a QR code??
My wife and I both logged into our NHS and asked for a Covid vaccination certificate. We each received a single page document with a QR (i.e. square full of black and white dots) for our first jab and a second QR for our second jab. We printed these out onto paper. Thes papers got us into France a couple of weeks ago. Today we were allowed into a cafe (in France) for a cup of coffee, after they had scanned our paper print outs with their smart phone app.
NB; the print out states that the QR is only valid for a month, so you will need to be able to log in again from abroad and download and print out the paper again if necessary.
That's only if you do a pdf print atheist. You can ring or request one in the post that has no expiry. Am not sure there diifrent
^ i meant... not sure WHY there diiferent
bob, I think the QR expires for technical reasons as the system gradually settles down to a Europe-wide thing. When you print out the paper copy it tells you the expiry date of the QR. Best to read the small print.
But for the one they post( as apposed to the one you can printoff) it says it has no expiry date. Is there some even smaller print that overrides this??
Am still not sure we've helped smurfchops much!!!

There is the NHS covid app which pings you if you are found to have been close to some for too long who tests positive for covid.

There is the NHS app that has your medical history, including covid status. Each person needs a different logon id / email address, they can't be shared. If you go to the covid pass area it will show the covid jab status for that account holder, a QR code - you can have the pass emailed and printed it yourself or have it posted.
