What are the chances of a new ice age happening as per the film "The Day After Tomorrow"? Did the producrer / director make this more dramatic for film effect or was it relatively accurate? If it can happen, when is it likely to?

Hi Dakota, haven't you been watching the news lately (too much AB) its already started for you in the UK, the gulf stream has reduced 20% in the last 10 years and it is moving more to the south and now many scientists are predicting that the slow-down will continue to accelerate. There is much talk about this and how it might lead to a mini ice age for the UK and northern Europe etc.... the filum showed it happening in a few days but the predictions are that it will be much slower than that, a few decades at least, try reading this for info on the situation today. The problem is that a few decades is really a very short time scale if things like agriculture, building standards, etc...etc.... has to adapt to the change.

Yay, I am going to start a sledge manufacturing business, make millions and move to Barbados!

Thought you chose not to believe in this kind of thing, Ned?
