I think travel agent shops will be a thing of the past ( more jobs lost) it'll be all done online and yes, there's the hospitality industry to consider as well as Airport ground staff too
We are having a slow easing out of lockdown. Crèche and primary schools back. Beauticians and hairdressers open. Weekend shop openings increased for supermarkets and others allowed to open till 1pm. Restaurants still take away. Travel outside of home councils at weekends to stay in force till after Easter. Border with Spain still closed.
what happens in Europe can find its way over here, if our admissions and deaths increase then surely the government may reconsider when to ease lockdown. nothing as they said was set in stone.
Fortunately Portugal did its own thing and went into lockdown immediately after cases rose after NY. We are still suffering from the lack of vaccines though
Yes. Most just want any vaccine as soon as possible. Also there is no exemption for not wearing a mask in shops etc. Can't wear one sorry no entrance. Hard but enforced
//Didn't BJ promise no more lockdowns? I'll go with that.//
I dont remember he said it like that, did'nt he say he wanted to make sure we get it right so we can avoid another. Am really hoping we can release restrictions but if things get worse then we'll simply pause or slow down the release rather than go to far and then after reintroduce lockdown. We may also see localised short lockdowns or tightnings like in Holyhead currantly
This may not be - in fact probably isn’t - related to vaccine roll out.
It’s possibly just the way the virus behaves.
The UK ought to be better equipped now if and when the wave comes though.
Although younger people are not vaccinated yet, it seems that in London at least a lot of younger people are able to book jabs “no questions asked” That’s what’s happened with my niece and her mates
