Due to the current crisis, I presume EU will want to keep the Pfizer jabs for themselves so we may have a glut of Astra Zeneca. My first jab was a Pfizer. Would it be safe to have the AZ as a second jab? Wonder if I will get it in April........

If you have seen the news, there is probably going to be a shortage of AZ, due to the delays from India.
Your second will be the same as the first, regardless.
as Ick says your second jab will be the same as your first, and there seems to be a shortage so don't hold your breath on getting next one so soon.
My nan and dad have their 2nd Pfizer jabs on 24th March.
I think they are delaying the first jabs for the over 40s so people can have their 2nd jab on time, so I shouldn’t worry.
Apparently the Americans have millions and millions of AZs stockpiled and could release some, rather than wasting them.
Emmie I watched Dr Sarah Jarvis who said " everyone up until April will be getting their second jab

T|here are two other vaccines, Moderna and Johnson and Johnson, which have received approval and which the UK has ordered about 50 million doses of.
Not sure when those arrive.
my second one should likely be May thinking on the time....
ichkeria What has India got to do with it? I thought the AZ came from the UK.
Made in India and other places.
I *think* I saw a headline a week or 2 ago that Johnson and Johnson was withdrawing theirs from the market.
I may be wrong.
I just read that 2nd jabs will be honoured as they have to meet the 12 weeks. Can't remember where I read it. Our second jabs are due mid April.
if i have counted correctly mine should be end of April.
If you read the reports about the AZ hold-up, AZ signed up the Serum Institute in India to help with its mass production of its vaccine.
I think the other sites are two in the UK and others in mainland Europe
We were given our two appointment dates at the same time. We had ours at our surgery.
A search tells me I was wrong about Johnson and Johnson.
It also tells me that any Catholics don't have to question the morality of it...that's good to know ;)

Mines due on the 29th April so I just squeeze in
Don't really know why anyone on here is concerned about getting first or second jab, you spend most of your time at home on AB, so really the workers should be getting it first. :0))))
