Perhaps we should spare a thought for poor old Hillary. Old Joe could beat Trump but she couldn't. Never even made it to VP, unlike Kamela. Good job she had a mask on. Nice to see her and Bill together, however, as they've lived apart for 17 years.
Also, don't think the world's greatest speechwriters did a terribly good job for Joe. Apart from 'let's end this uncivil war', which I rather liked, everything else in the speech was predictable. That said, there might have been a case for being consensual and calm.
Great to see Kamala and her extended family walking to the event. Don't think Joe and Jill did anything wrong but was just struck, as many others have said, that the old chap is looking his age and electing 78-year-old presidents is plain daft.

Got none, sorry
I thought his speech was pretty good (written for him obviously) and he came over as a man with integrity unlike his predecessor.
I was disappointed. I was promised riots and anarchy and all I got was Garth Brooks.

I thought Garth Brooks was a riot tonight.
Platitudes that have been forgotten already.
Didn't watch it. Didn't watch the last one. It is not our election after all and I rather resent virtually all our TV channels giving themselves over to it for hours. As a news item, and possibly a special programme that is OK - but blanket coverage is a no.

For what it's worth, I don't think they elected Biden, he's a figurehead and I can 't see him lasting more than 18 months t.b.h.. Rather like France, really - they elected Macron because he wasn't Le Pen. Not great as it transpires.
Listening to CNN I expected bombs n stuff!
Apparently Diddles, he's been working on his speech since November. Obviously, I don't know if that's true, but that's what one of the commentators on the inauguration said.
To be fair to Hillary, Biden had a big advantage over her when it came to beating Trump. The voters had four years experience of Trump actually being president.
Felt bad that an old (And somewhat creepy) man in his late seventies was forced to stand outside then read from a screen a speech that had been written for him in the biting January air. With all the masks, he didn't get his fair share of kisses and hugs and shuffled back to the Capitol looking lost and weary. Surrounded by has-beens and a rablle of other career politicians on hardchairs giving him a little clap whenever he said "Yoonity, fowkes", he looked like a low-energy Jimmy Carter. CNN devotes as much time to Kamala's purple coat as Joe's actual inauguration "speech", which tells you all you need to know.

Love that Trumpy said: 'We'll be back in some form'. As a bat, a smell, a disease? And only he could use the most hackneyed soundtrack of 'My Way' to see him off. Goes to show.
Hillary C looked a lot happier than the funereally clad Melania Trump.
Biden may be 78 but he’s the man for the moment
Should have picked someone for the full 4 years though.
Most recent presidents have made it to well over 90.
Living to 90 and doing your job in your 90's are not the same thing.
