For once he would be right to stop the Christmas free-for-all. He might then come across to more people as a leader.

will it make any difference if he does.
emmie...that is not up to Boris, as that depends on the sanity/insanity of the British public..........and that is my concern.
can't police it sqad, no one can. Boris can call the shots make all the U turns he likes but if people don;t wanna stick to these guidelines then what can you do.
Emmie.....apart from making the right call, doing the right thing..........NOTHING.
He has just re-iterated that he will not change the Christmas arrangement. 2pm news.
right danny. Prepare for him to get a lambasting from many quarters.
will Sotland do the same i wonder...
Emmie, if pople live in the same house then they are quite OK to mingle within the house.
sorry that should read Scotland..
they are danny. But perhaps many are preparing to travel to see family, or have friends over for CD. Christmas free for all as diddly says.
O.K folks, I was wrong.
Where does my £200 pension go ?
oh sqad...
£200 a month Sqad?
No local charities near you?
Hope there is mass disobedience, enough is enough.
I'm pretty certain there will be Dave.

I was amused at the idea that "the Army" should be called upon to police Covid restrictions. The strength of the UK's armed forces is around 190,000. Let's be incredibly kind and say that a half of them would be available for such tasks. I say incredibly kind because the 193,000 people includes naval personnel who could be anywhere at sea, aircrew and groundcrew who maintain the UK's reaction alert facilities, senior officers and a large number who are in overseas postings. There are around 67m people in the UK. But let's be kind again and say only 10% of those might be "willfully disobedient" and not do as they are told. This leaves 100,000 troops to police almost 7 million people. So one member of the armed forces for every 70 dissidents. And that's being very kind with the figures.
I think he might indeed pull in the reigns a little. But...many will not listen anyway and do their own thing regardless. Im kinda sitting on the fence a bit...I hate the rules, I think many, (not all though!) are unnecessary but unfortunately luges swathes of the population seem to lack common sense and ....hence why rules are needed.

Forget the people with no commonsense and the willful rule-breakers. Just tell the majority of the nation that the rules on Christmas are changing as from now and that the tiers apply over the 5 days. Too bad if you've ordered a turkey for 20 etc - what price a life?
It’s not looking like anything will change significantly.
