Looks like the pandemic will be with us for a year or two yet, so we need to engender the spirit of 39-45. This will be especially difficult for the younger "instant-answer" generations, as we've seen already.

I get sick of older people slagging off the younger generations. I hope when I get to your age, I don't get like that. My Mum didn't so that's encouraging as it shows it's not compulsory.

Either we develop immunity so it has no more hosts (and government is presently delaying that and trying to prevent it) or it sticks around permanently. These things may well mutate such that full immunity isn't possible; although it's likely it's the less dangerous versions that manage to stick around.

I think Spanish flu particularly killed younger people but eventually ran out of hosts. Covid especially kills off old people - but there are always more old people coming along.

But once a society has sufficient folk with immunity the virus will find it difficult to reach a new old folk.

What we want is a right-wing-specific virus, that only attacks those with an IQ so low that they read and swallow what the likes of the Mail and Telegraph preaches to them.

ymb, of course there were young survivors. But remember that millions of an age to have children were killed by the war as well as by the flu.
