The wearing of masks/coverings could be made compulsory is shops and pubs.

I understand how it could work in shops (even though I don’t think it’s necessary) but how would it work in pubs?

Lifting the mask up or down every time you sup is daft.

If the place of business which you intend to enter insists that you wear a mask, then wear one. You might or might not get Covid there; but, the fact is, you'll definitely get served.

For some reason, the authorities in the area in which I live decided that as of yesterday masks were obligatory in all supermarkets, stores, gas stations,beer and liquor stores etc. So, guess what, if I want to buy food, gas, booze, or whatever I shall don a mask in order to do so. What's this cowering behind the sofa stuff?

I've seen the 'behind the sofa' jibe a few times - not very original.

Not sure I'd bother hiding in the middle of my lounge.

I shall wear one in the places that stipulate it is required, then take it off when I'm outside again.

Not difficult really.

What does one do if the couch backs onto a wall and weighs half a ton?

Would hiding under a table do instead?
I remember it was recommended in the event of nuclear attack so must be very protective.

Anyone planning on a holiday to Spain or Portugal bring your masks. Required in shops, when you enter restaurants but you can take off when seated, public transport, post office banks etc. Beaches have limits on numbers and sun beds etc booked for am or pm. No discos or nightclubs open. Heavy on the spot fines
