when I lost 3.5 st I did it on the sw diet - you don't have to replace carbs. Anyway, protein is the answer if you don't like fruit/veg
Weight loss and dieting is open, I have just done a test post.

i'll just answer bednobs - I joined SW just before lockdown - done it for about 2 or 3 weeks and then went back to my bad ways, I'll hunt out my wee books again.

Mamy Above was what I was getting but didn't scroll down. ta ta
I ditched carbs about 9 years ago...lost 1.5 stone in 3 months. Over the years, I've found it's what works for me. I eat things I like...cheese, butter, avocados, nice fish, poultry, some red meat. Some veg. No wheat...pasta and bread causes me to be bloated and affects my joints. It also causes cravings=binges.
It was difficult when I was working as there was ALWAYS temptation...and stress...and binges.
Now...no temptation and far less stress. I've done WW and SW...I just gained the weight back with them.
I found it easy during lockdown. I made better habits...I hope they stick.
Have you tried exercising more?
I've lost a stone during lockdown - I use Slimfast, have a strawberry shake for breakfast, chocolate bar for snack, lunch is something like bit of ham or chicken with four crackers, tomatoes, few grapes. Another chocolate snack mid afternoon, then for tea which I never used to have regularly I cook either chicken or pork chop or tonight treated myself to a piece of rump steak with over chips, then during the evening either a choc roll or perhaps piece of fruit. I've never had the chance to regulate my intake before as I have always eaten 'on the hoof' and often ended up with a take away. Haven't bought crisps, cakes, biscuits, bread for months now.
I could never go carb free. Or fat free. Or anything else free.
What works for me is portion control..same food just less of it.
Find what works jj then stick to it, that’s the secret, sticking to it.
Same, Vagus, I don't deny myself anything.

I've been much more active recently with sorting the house out (got 3 spare people move in)
Noom advertised on YouTube, for weight loss.
What's it all about?
Anybody tried it?
Though I don't eat starchy or wheat based carbs, I don't consider it to be denying myself anything. Certainly not if eating those things causes me to feel less than good. Also...I don't want to eat less food. Been there, done that.
