Friday. The moon is shining brightly here, the air is still, could be another nice day, with a bit of luck! good for those celebrating VE day. I will be, being ex-army. I wasn't involved in WW2, but several conflicts since, so I will be remembering friends that never came home, including my brother.
Apart from that, another day to go shoplifting and various other activities.
Have a happy day everyone.

what happened to your brother boaty..
Question Author
He was in the SAS and was killed on active service in Aden emmie.
how sad, but he was doing his duty i guess and knew the risks.
Question Author
My other brother and I were in the forces too, we all knew the risk.
it's a time for reflection isn't it....
those we have loved and lost, VE 75 years ago today
amazing that we still commemorate it, the old soldiers of that war like Captain Tom Moore who is 100 years old must be also reflecting on those who didn't come home
Question Author
Indeed emmie, also the families of those service men and women too.
indeed, that is what i was referring to as well.
i wonder are there going to be any celebrations of a sort to commemorate VE day. seeing as we are all in lockdown.
Question Author
I'm sure there will be emmie.
to think that most who fought and have survived into old age are in their 90's 100's, so not many left i suspect. I see them being wheeled down by the Cenotaph when it's November 11th and wonder what tales they could tell.
