....no Tish Sherlock! I wonder why? Perhaps there has been some sort of crisis! Who are these people? Of course cars sales have fallen, so have sales most other things! We must get back to work, start using TTI pronto before we skint ourselves back to the stone age!

could always go for a stretch limo and get the salesman to give his pitch from the back seat

Maybe sales won't pick up much for a long time even if we all go back to work. Maybe this lockdown has helped us focus on priorities. Certainly working from home and avoiding the long commute/drive has been a real bonus for my family and all will look to continue working largely from home.
I think spending could either way really.

People have not been spending as much so may well have a few £ in the bank.

You either spend it on what you would have done or hunker down and save it in case anything else happens.

But it’s like anything else. If you need it and have the resources you get it at some point.

There might even be a bargain to be had somewhere.
knock a few thousand of each model, they'll shift
I would ordinarily have bought my next new car last year but I am going to keep my current car going as long as possible. Nothing to with lockdown, like many people I’m reluctant to buy a diesel or petrol and electric cars need to drop in price and improve their mileage per charge.
