What cloud is he on? Surely if he took any advice from the medical professionals/advisers before speaking he would not be saying inane things like this.

Except he was talking about Coronavirus at the time. Yes, antibiotic resistance is a problem -- separate but related -- but it's wrong to ascribe some sort of hidden wisdom to Trump's remarks in this case. Antibiotics don't work on, and have nothing to do with, viruses.
Take it from me, I've watched the whole video. He's talking about bacteria (or germs, as he calls them)
In the middle of a Coronavirus briefing. No, it won't do. He was confusing two issues. It's the same school of thought as asking what was wrong with using a "really solid" flu vaccine, suggesting that the US's GDP is "actually negative", that the population of Seoul was 35 million, or any of the other glaring factual errors he has made and continues to make.
If you're foolish enough not to believe me, how about the CNN fact checker?
In June 2019, Dale left the Toronto Star and joined CNN.[10] According to CNN, "Daniel Dale is a reporter in CNN's Washington Bureau, where he fact-checks President Trump, 2020 presidential candidates and others."[11]

I'd be cautious in asserting that Trump was suggesting that antibiotics used to be effective against viruses. I took it as more, like, "oh here's another thing I think about something." He's just talking.

Do you think that Trump is doing well?

Do you agree with his assessment of the virus re: antibiotics?

Or do you think he's not really got the gist?

"If you're foolish enough not to believe me".

Seriously?
It’s quite cute and endearing how Trump fans, even when presented with his own incoherent and unfounded ramblings, jump to his defence, tho.
CNN a garvement funded news channel.
^^^ even Government.
I've said it before on AB and i'll say it again now. Trump may well be making America great again, but as regards the Coronavirus he is as clueless as the rest of us. By confusing the treatment needed for viruses, the man clearly proved he doesn't know what he is talking about and I cannot for the life of me understand why he pretends he does. Just leave the talking to the people who are better qualified. No-one would think any the worse about him of he did this. The fact is, he just cannot resist 'bigging' himself up.

Yes, seriously. Do you think I always turn out to be right about everything because I'm lucky?

I'm practically on the super genius spectrum.
I suppose it's no coincidence that Spicerack is an anagram of "AnswerBank".
?
Because he has all the answers.

Oh wait, it's not an anagram? Oh well, it was probably as close to being an anagram as Spicey is to being a genius :P
Then we come to the opposite end of the spectrum.
The CNN , yes that CNN, the worst anti-Trump channel in the US, if they can't find anything bad to say about him, they'll make it up, and often do, fact checker says Trump wasn't talking about the virus.
The next comment;

//Do you agree with his assessment of the virus re: antibiotics?//
At least me and Trump knew there were Muslims in Chechnya................................................and Nigeria.
Of course Trump is right.

Why else are we all using Anti-bacterial Hand Gel in industrial quantities ?
We aren't

I'd avoid using the word 'spectrum' when describing your mental abilities.
