Perhaps this should be in Media?
I'd agree - this lady has a view, but taking it out on Mr Fox purely on the basis of his race and background is unjustified.
'Actor Lawrence Fox clashed with an audience member' say the aBBC who employ the 'audience member'.
Loz was good throughout the programme. I suspect an aBBC researcher is being 'hauled over the coals' this morning.

Which as Laurence says - makes her a racist! I'm glad Fiona said what she did at the end. I would say without a doubt that Megan has not been the subject of racism, except by a bigoted minority
Question Author
Yes, Loz was good throughout the programme. A very balanced intelligent man and so self assured.
More Mr Fox for anyone interested.
I've always treated racism as a joke every since we were lectured by a young teacher who'd 'been on a course' and told us that only white people can be racist! It's time that more people challenged the attitude that if you're not white you can say what you want and blame any response on 'racisim'. We need to stop allowing the r-word being the trump card in any argument.
Yes. He did well, and I'm glad the audience groaned along with him at her comments. It's nothing to do with racism.
Oh he was good! He said what a lot of people are thinking, that is that every time a person of colour is criticised by a white person they play the racist card -it just HAS to be racially motivated -but it isn't! There was an Asian women agreed with him and many 'non white' people were agreeing with Laurence. My Jamaican DDL agrees with him! He is correct - this racial card playing is getting boring - if I have an issue with someone, the colour of their skin is usually if not always totally irrelevant!
At last, someone actually saying what many think.

We can see why we have a problem with students if this woan is the calibre of lecturer.

Will come back to that video later Spicerack. Thanks for posting it.
I have a lot of admiration and respect for Laurence Fox, who is not afraid to state his very un-luvvie views. I also really like him as an actor.
Samuel Johnson once said that “Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel”. The modern version could well be “The cry of racism is the last refuge of the scoundrel”. The vast majority of such accusations arise where no defense is available. To put it simply, it’s said to silence criticism.
I think its time we got away from needing a reason why something is nasty and hurtful and getting to a point where rudeness and nastiness is seen as what it is which is plain bad manners.
// “The cry of racism is the last refuge of the scoundrel” //

It's become the witchcraft of modern times. If you want to attack or silence someone, accuse them of this. The accusation itself is often enough to destroy them irrespective of any evidence. Also, people are reluctant to speak up in defence, for fear of being targeted themselves.
^Exactly.
I'm going to play Devil's Advocate here, even though I agree with him in principe (and fake "isms", does more damage to genuine cases of race crime, gender equality etc than an army of Alf Garnetts).

Yesterday, most of us commented on a thread decrying over-opinionated celebs, but today one appears celebrating just that. Basically, we are all hypocrites and it's really a case of "celebs should shut up unless they agree with us".
Yes I saw a couple of minutes of QT last night and you could spot “opinionated (celeb??) a mile off :-)
Whether he was one I might or disagree with I didn’t stay to find out.
But QT probably needs people like that.
I stopped watching when they increased the number of panel members. It lost its “tightness” after that. Any Questions, where you don’t have the distraction of vision, only the words, is much better.
Harry needs to realise, that the press is the least of his worries to protect his family. The UK is one of the safest places for them to be, by globe trotting he is putting them in greater danger of terrorists IMO.
what a sill woc, racism my april, when are we going to get out of this stupid habit of tarring everything as racist when it ain't. All they'll do is hide real racism.
