yeah, Hoddle got involved with some radio rental woman and started spouting that cobras. Pity, great footballer.
Yes, Hoddle certainly had his head turned alright. He's probably getting a decent wage doing his co-commentating.
Religion does funny things to people, but should we as a society respect their view (and in most cases just park it in the corner) or do we slowly remove free speech?
I thought the title here, was just an awful pun...
Oh pixie,, i did think something similar........
How has free speech been threatened here? He lost his job as a rugby player. That doesn't undermine free speech. He's being roundly condemned for his ignorant rubbish. That doesn't undermine free speech either.
While I totally disagree with him, Jim. I think it actually does undermine it. As if people have to give the "correct," opinions now.
In 2007 the Bishop of Carlisle blamed the flooding of that year on me 'n' my sort.....

What caused the thousands of bush fires before same-sex marriage?
Pixie, free speech does not debar people with opinions about a speech from making their views know. A good example of this is the speakers corner in Hyde Park where the speakers are quite often vociferously disagreed with.
Absolutely, Danny. But of someone loses their job, due to "free speech" (rather than being a convicted criminal). Then we already have lost it.
Pixie //But of someone loses their job, due to "free speech" //
Have you knowledge of this ? .If so I agree with ,but if you are talking about the rugby player he was sacked due to making racial remarks which, in my opinion, does not come under the right to free speech.
Homophobia is not free speech. This guy has had several homophobic outbursts on social media. One which read, "Hell awaits" for "drunks, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, fornicaters, thieves, atheists (GULP!), idolaters. Not many going to heaven, then:-/
he definitely needs to go for a head injury assessment...
If he continues spouting this drivel, he may well suffer a head injury.
SR, Not really anything to do with free speech. He broke park regulations.
//The regulations say no one should ‘exhibit any notice or advertisement or any other written or pictorial matter’.//
Interesting.....so was that what caused the flooding in north last week?
