I find it quite astonishing just how hypocritical some of the Remainer MP are. They are taking cognitive dissonance to new levels of absurdity. I could post a lengthy self-penned polemic on this utter farce but instead I shall post a lengthy polemic spoken by Julia Hartley-Brewer since she put it far better than I ever could: “So far Remainers have called...

Boris did mention her. Said words to the effect that getting Brexit done was the best way to honour her. Totally innocuous, and after others had already brought the subject of violence up. The complaints have no relevance and are just made as they're seen as an opportunity to bully the PM further.
Language?
Good grief. It’s not like they were calling each other effing c’s, is it?
It’s not the language, it’s the aggression in which it’s delivered.
It’s all well and good quoting Paula Sherriff’s diatribe, but reading her words is completely different to seeing and hearing the way she actually spoke them.
I see she was all nicey nicey and calm when she got interviewed yesterday.

Of course any threats are appalling, and doubtless scary too, but the way some of these MP’s have carried on makes them no better than the people making the threats.

They should stop using Jo Cox’s murder to make political capital.
And just for the record, when Mr. Johnson said “the best way to honour Jo Cox’s memory is to get brexit done” (or words to that effect) I thought it was a dumb thing to say. But at least it wasn’t said in an apoplectic or aggressive way.
Maybe Major doesn't like the word betrayal because of his own with Edwina Curry.
What astonished me was Gina Miller claiming on QT last night that she wasn't interfering with Brexit, she's been scrutinising Parliament for the last 10 years.
So, it must have been a lie when she claimed her 3? year old son burst into tears when he heard the result of the Referendum and sobbed 'Mummy, mummy, the stupid people have voted to leave the EU'
And she put her arms around him and said 'Don't cry, darling. Mummy will fix this for you'.
And that was why, for the first time ever, she got involved in campaigning.
As Judge Judy says 'If you're going to tell lies, you need a good memory'.

My take on this is the opposition are taking anything they can to stop Boris moving forward, I agree tho his using Jo Cox’s name to get his point across was ill thought out, I saw her sister on last nights news saying that while she didn’t want to be embroiled in the antics going on in the commons, the use of her sisters name in there was hurtful to her family, husband and children, and I agree
Bobbi /, I agree tho his using Jo Cox’s name to get his point across was ill thought out//
It was MP Paula Sheriff who brought up the matter of Jo Cox, not Boris.
Yes, dannyk is quite correct.
Paula Sherriff mentioned Jo Cox first when she said “as we stand here under the shield of our departed friend.”
Question Author
Danny yes I know but did he not respond with
“ The best way to honour Jo Cox’s memory would be to push Brexit through on October the 31st” ?
It may have been better had he not responded to the screaming banshee ,
Bobbi, Once the Speaker calls his name he is obliged to answer.
Question Author
Now that is something I never knew Danny, thank you for that,
My guess would be, Bobbisox, that once Jo Cox got a mention, Mr. Johnson felt obliged to mention her too.
But as per my previous post, I thought what he said was a bit dumb. Particularly as she was a remainer!
Question Author
Yes, I agree Bigbad
Bigbad, I think it was one of those occasions where he was lost for words and just said the first thing that came into his head.At the time I did think that it did not make much sense.
BA for birdy, great article by JHB. The remainers can be as nasty as they like but one christmassy word from Boris an they are spitting EUSSR peace porridge. What a shower.
Yes, BA for birdy - excellent post and oh so true ..
Question Author
Happy to give Birdie BA, well deserved
Yay x
Did anyone see that poor Welsh girl on QT last night.
New hairdo-check, new clothes-check. No doubt spent hours in front of the mirror practicing her lines hoping to get 'on'.
Then her big moment came, spotlight on, microphone lowered;
'Leave had 52% so you only won by a 2% margin'
Bless.
