It's taken a while to report on it. I think this report came out because of how social media shared the fact that the amazon rainforest is burnign and has been for a number of days, yet no one has reported on it.

Yet when a pointless building that has no benefit to life on this earth was burning, all hands were on deck to give money, support and attention to notre dam.

The worlds priorities are messed up.

The smoke can be seen from space.

"Pointless and you are the clearly misinformed one if you think it's meaningless"

If you think my existence relys of notre damn you're ill informed.

Mine, and your existence does actually rely on the amazon rainforest.
The developed wold burnt most of its forests for agriculture and grazing long ago. Now the developing world is expected to save their forests for the good of everyone.

Ironically many of the cattle grazing where these forests once stood will be exported to satisfy the developed world's voracious appetite for meat.

OG half the issue is the authorities are useless.
The authorities are not useless, they are owned by the criminals.

Just like the politicians in the western world, only our criminals are far more organised.

despair
Then there's little that can be done, unless you are suggesting another country invades and are brutal enough to stop the wrongdoing.
"half the issue is the authorities are useless."

That statement is totally subjective. Fine you spouting it from the comfort of your first world armchair probably in an area that was cleared of trees originally.

Don't get me wrong, there are problems in Brazil but we need to remove the hysteria and fake news and understand the real problem - Natural fires are not a problem BTW it's how forests survive.
Question Author
a 87% increase isn't natural.
Question Author
Also, yes forest fires are natural... In forests.

Not so much the case in Rain Forests.
Question Author
The amazon is too humid for natural fires to be self sustained.
