Pleased that the caring UK have now nursed this boy back to full health, but after all he is still an illegal immigrant, and as such should he now be deported back to Vietnam?

The last part of my post at 1420 should read "are also guilty of a crime."
AOG, No I am not as you well know As usual you are trying to put words in other people's mouths.
Incidentally regarding your assuming the boy came from Vietnam by air, nowhere in the link does it say that he came from Vietnam, only that he is Vietnamese.

AOG //I think you will find that FF was referring to the air trip from Vietnam, //
Where in the link does it mention any air trip? ///

Where in the link does it say that they travelled by car all the way from Vietnam?

But if you were coming from such a country, wouldn't you use air travel for part of the way, at least?
FF - I "think" that the cargo hold on a passenger plane is kept at the same pressure as the the seating area, maybe a bit lower temperature but bearable. I stand to be corrected!
AOG, It is quite possible that he arrived in Europe at an earlier date.AS we do not any more than is in the link it is futile to carry on with your suppositions.
he seems a nice enough lad, I'd swap him for Jo Swinson.
DanntK13, from the headline:" Boy, 16, who was smuggled into the UK from Vietnam inside a SUITCASE."

Now you do have a point there Danny, perhaps we can then presume that he was yet another foreign national, queuing up in France for a trip over to the land of milk and honey.
Sanmac, thank you I stand corrected , but in the link it says he was smuggled from France.
You are probably right. AOG's and the Daily Mail's headlines are misleading. Maybe the paper meant "Boy, 16, from Vietnam Smuggled Into The Uk Inside A Suitcase"
AOG, you can presume to your hearts content, but I have said all I wish to say and will await any further news on the matter.
It all depends on the circumstances. Has he family back in Vietnam? Would he be in danger if returned? Why was he snuggle to the UK? Was he being trafficked or was he looking for asylum? It's not all black and white.
Danny, it's all very bizarre and confusing isn't it? And how does a 16 year old get enrolled in a college. Also, how do they know that he's 16,did he have papers?

Bring back National Service, then when he becomes 18, he will be leaving the UK post haste along with many of the economic migrants, who have clambered to enjoy the rich pickings of the good old UK.
Sanmac, we will just have to wait for any further news.
Another question OG. Is there a point where a line can be drawn. An age when an illegal immigrant does not face deportation back to their country of origin? Would you feel the same if it was an eight year old? Legally, this kid is a minor, with the same rights as a much younger child.
"Bring back National Service"

Oh yeah, and what happens if immigrant or even natives refuse to do national service?
Spath, you get blindfolded, stood up against a wall, given a cigarette, and...Well, you know the rest.
Yeah right. I'm more likely to get an oral delight.

It's 2019. can't be shooting people against a wall.
...and asked if you can tell Rothmans from Benson and Hedges.
