Whilst not condoning this behaviour by a certain few, LBC radio decided to make this a news subject for their phone in.

Having listened to this I was surprised at the way this behaviour was criticised as being part of our British (but mainly English) behaviour when we are abroad.
Two callers one a Black male and an Asian lady, who I suppose would demand that they were British born and bred, were amongst those who slagged off 'The Brit's' culture.

The Asian Lady criticised the way British women dressed when they were abroad, with their skimpy attire and tattooed arms. Whilst the Black fellow chose to link 'The Brit's' aggressive behaviour back to the days of our Empire.

Why is this sort of criticism of our behaviour and culture allowed, yet if we criticise other's cultures and their behaviour, we are classed as being racist? Indeed it would never be allowed to be the subject for a radio phone in.

they are their opinions arent they? AOgs may be different. They should be allowed to express it whether or not we agree. ///

I total agree Peter, and I would be the first to state that everyone has the right to their opinion even if it differs to one's own.

But there are many on here that are not so accommodating.

We also don't posses a level playing field in this country, when it comes to criticizing ethnic minorities.
As there is always the threat of the race card being played if one dares to have the courage to do so.

/// Could you answer my question at 11:06, AOG? ///

Would that be a PLEASE?

But still ignoring your bad manners, I will answer it by saying, "just try teling them that they are not really British".
What if they were not British in the first place?
Lol you have an agenda AOG it’s so obvious from your posts!

/// You didn't copy my answer saying that Brits are getting blamed for things they haven't done! /// Since you enter numerous answers, and it is good that you do, that is what AnswerBank is all about.

But I am not a mind reader adding the time of the answer that you are referring to, would prevent such misunderstanding.
I once overheard a conversation in Portugal about a news item featuring an extensive drunken brawl in a seaside town, hospitalisations, arrests, damage to property. It appeared that (as in most countries) the nationality(ies) had not been mentioned in the coverage of the event. Those discussing this at one point came to the conclusion that Brits must have been involved because the Brits are always part of that sort of thing.
He has no idea who the callers were or where they were born but "knows" they would demand to be called British?
Slightly off topic but if it's now considered acceptable to refer to Britons as Brits, can we do the same for all other nationalities or would that be considered racist in some instances? Personally, I consider the abbreviation Brit offensive, am I allowed feelings?
Because we tend to read only English speaking newspapers etc we tend to get a skewed perspective, others are also guilty of anti-social behaviour.
"But I am not a mind reader " if you know the callers demand to be called British, you ARE a mind-reader.
I think the offence comes from so many people of colour being labelled the same. Like saying you're going to the P*** shop which happens to be run by Indians.
I think the scale of the 'Brits abroad' behaviour is grossly exaggerated. The worst behaviour I've seen in recent times is from our German cousins. I saw one collapse in the street yestrerday and smash a bottle of beer all over the floor. The woman with him, who was toothless and had a face that looked drug-ravaged, aggressively grabbed the arm of a passer-by shouting, "Wasser, wasser!". That's "water" (I think).

I have not seen a single drunken Brit all the time I've been in Bavaria, a place world famous for its outstanding beer.
When people blame *the brits* for unsociable behaviour abroad ,would it be more accurate to say English .?
When there is football on, probably :-)

And don't we all, although agendas may differ, whether it be Party Politics, Anti Brexit, Anti Trump, Anti-Boris, Atheism and in the likes of you case Anti-AOG.

Why should Anti Mass Immigration and Anti Multiculturalism be a no, no?

Like saying you're going to the P*** shop which happens to be run by Indians.>...>>>i agree with you to a certain extent ummmm ,i can remember when that word you are on about was not considered offensive, what was considered offensive was the short version of,
Western Oriental Gentelman
Jordy - I think it's the ignorance that is offensive.

Your post was not off topic zebo it's all part of the same thing.

The indigenous population of this once great country are not allowed to say this, not allowed to say that etc etc, yet those who have chosen to settle in this country of ours from foreign climes are allowed to *** us off and demand what we can say or not say freely.

And don't you think that they label us 'BRITS' all the same?

If it comes to that we are not allowed to call someone who we know comes from Pakistan, a P***.
ANOTHEOLDGIT, what made you think the callers would demand to be called British? What if they were not British but proud foreigners?
They are talking about Brits though.
