I certainly recognise that speech. It sounds very similar to a highly praised speech attributed to Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard. This speech was denied and snopes said it was a HOAX. It went viral. It is strange no one turned a hair when it was circulated but then it wasn't attributed to POTUS was it? //: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT....

'No, I am suggesting what I believe you may be saying - as my statement says "You appear to be saying …" - and if I am incorrect, then fine, argue against me, but you can't get past my point by suggesting that I am saying something you have not said, when I took pains to avoid exactly that reaction.'

I think you APPEAR to be tying yourself in knots trying to prove an opinion is proof of racism. It never will be, by default. It can't be simply by dint of the fact that you're not the person / people being offended.
Interesting ludders.
Many of the people who “love it” are elements of the press ironically, but not to the extent they’d vote for him. And his hard core supporters who stand by him no matter, it’s hard to see that as a growing phenomenon.
His big hope has to be that the economy continues to do well and/or his friends in the Kremlin dig some dirt on his opponents.
If any of the pitchfork bearers are actually interested in what he said, here's what he said.

Good for him. Can't fault him for putting America first.
That's not what he originally said Naomi. That's the spin he put on it after the event, when he was asked to explain what he meant by it, as per the first journalist's question.
No? What did he say then?
He told the congresswomen they should go back to where they came from / countries whose governments are “a complete and total catastrophe”
In three cases out of the four that last remark referred in fact to the US government ... an irony not lost on many

//So interesting to see “Progressive” Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly.....
....and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how....
....it is done. These places need your help badly, you can’t leave fast enough. I’m sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!//
This is what he tweeted (in 3 separate tweets):

Sounds fair enough to me.
It's the equivalent of Theresa May saying that if Diane Abbott doesn't like how things are run in this country she should go back to where she came from.

Definitely stupid, definitely ignorant, arguably racist.
Yes because if someone perceived as not from “somewhere else” criticised the border arrangements - as indeed many do - pr made other critical remarks about government policy - they would presumably be attacked in a different way.
Which is wholly wrong.
But he didn't 'tell' them to go back where they came from. He asked why they don't. If only our politicians had his backbone!
They come from the USA. Which the exception of the lady from Somalia who was brought up in the US.
We know.
The answer to why they don’t do back to “where they came from” is that they are already there!
It’s saying “you have no right to criticise my country because I don’t think you belong here”
He asked why they don't go back to America if they don't like how things are run in America.

I'll leave it at that, because if there's anyone can't see that it's a stupid thing to say, there's clearly nothing I can do to convince them otherwise.
Ickkeria, //It’s saying “you have no right to criticise my country because I don’t think you belong here” //

That's putting words in his mouth -which is half the problem with Trump haters. He didn't say that at all. He said if you don't like it why don't you go live elsewhere - which is fair enough.
Ludwig, //He asked why they don't go back to America if they don't like how things are run in America. //

He didn't say that either.
Re your opinion Naomi I can only echo what Ludwig said.
To the point and just, and saving a whole pointless row :-)
Jeez :-)
