Didn’t take them long: You get 4 days for voting Lib Dem. Abusing a Jew on social media and it’s 4 years not counting appeals ;-)

He should have kept his mouth shut about voting for the Lib Dems.
He voted Lib Dem on Thursday and admitted as much on TV.
Will the Tories be expelling anyone I wonder :-)

well since he's never sung from the labour hymn book as written by Seumas Milne, nice of him to give the party an excuse to get rid.
That's what you get for having principles and placing country above party under Corbyn (the hypocrisy is amazing given JC's own record) ... and for knowing where you stand while being a prominent member of a party that doesn't.
I’d say that is a spectacularly bad own goal on their part.
I wonder how many labour people, less high profile than Alistair and not all members perhaps, did the same.
Ok Alistair is public enemy no I to many of them, but it’s effectively saying “you’re a traitor to the cause”.
Loosing odious Campbell won't hurt Labour. Might actually do them some good.
On the contrary it will do them enormous damage.
To the extent that I wouldn’t be at all surprised if someone else in Labour claims it’s untrue or it’s rescinded.
Of course they hate him so they they’ll use any excuse.

Perhaps if he adds together all the people that didn't sack him........
But surely Campbell, like Blair is toxic to the Labour Party?

I dont think it wil do them one bit of harm. All blow over in a few days anyway.
Did the Cons expel Heseltine for the same reason ? .
When your own members can’t vote for you because your policies are wrong, then you are in trouble.
The LibDems had a clear policy on Brexit, unlike the fudge mess that Labour presented.
Campbell is a Remainer, so he voted for the party that supports remain.
He obviously wanted to be kicked out of the party to make a point. He would have kept quiet otherwise.

How is he odious? One of the best Labour politicians, I’d say.
Question Author
Doubt it, ymb. This will cause a massive schism in the Labour Party, imo. (or bring it to a head, to be more accurate)
Blair is toxic to the Remain cause perhaps, because he’s active in it.
Alistair Campbell less so.
Neither are at all active in Labour so I can’t see how it helps them politically to ditch him. It just comes across as vindictive. Especially when you considerate how tolerant they seem to be of ... certain others.
Danny; "He should have kept his mouth shut.................." No use protest voting if no-one knows you've done so. Bet there were quite a few Labour and Tory party members who voted for the Lib Dems or the Brexit party.

"How is he odious? One of the best Labour politicians, I’d say."

You are entitled to your view, I am entitled to mine.

He is not a politician, he is a spin doctor. It's in his DNA to twist and present things as he wants them and not let little things like facts get in the way.

How is he odious? Do you know what he was involved in during Bliar years? Start with the dossier of lies that took us to war.

IMHO he should be sharing a cell with Bliar.
