You may remember me posting this link wishing this woman well.

https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/News/Question1648041.html

She has had the conviction for murder quashed and is now back home.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-surrey-47845450

She will now face a new trial and again, I hope that things turn out positively for her.

I have had the benefit of reading the judgements in the original appeal against sentence and the latest one against conviction. I am in two minds about this. They had separated and she had moved out; however, they had reconciled and they had spent the afternoon together at the former matrimonial home. That afternoon, she became suspicious that he was...

I doubt the court will use your book as reference, Baldric.
Yes, cal. Exactly.
//FGS let see what further evidence does or does not reveal.//

What part of that do you AB ladies not understand?
Strange situation, wasn't it. His behaviour towards her when she had the abortion would have had me running far away from him but seems she was besotted.
He took advantage of her love for him in an evil and nasty way. His behaviour not just towards her but towards his sons and friends is odd.
I don't know why she returned to him after breaking away and buying her own house.
It took her a long time to react to the abuse. I'd have left him long before but I can understand why she killed him and I wish her well in the trial and new life with her family....x
Did you conveniently forget your first paragraph Retro?

Like I said the Law changed 5 years after the murder, no contest imo.
We 'AB ladies' understand the cut and thrust of you and Baldrics posts perfectly thanks Retro, and interesting, as a by the by, that they should both come from men whose career choices put them in a position of authority.

...which they think they still have...

Oh dear the coven has almost fully convened. Time to flounce out
of here before they banish me.
You are part of the coven! Please don't x

I have no authority, just an opinion that she murdered him 5 years before a Law was introduced that might have excused her action.

No, Retro. Do stay and fight your corner.

Can you explain to me the difference between murder and killing? I have just googled it and found a lot of options.
His behaviour towards her was appalling...he was an absolute barsteward. He bullied her unmercifully until she felt that she was nothing...he left her and then told her he was coming back...when they met he told her he would continue to see his mistress and that is when she finally broke.....he was absolutely foul and made her feel that she was less than nothing.....there is a lot more to this story of his treatment of her but the above indicates just what he was like....all this is out there, She was so young when he started to tell her she was nothing...
...which roughly translated means ' I know I have have posted pompous nonsense, I have no recourse to the fact that I have been found out and called on that so I'll slightly insult everyone else concerned and leave until they've forgotten about it'. ;-) x

Be my guest. My training was for the understanding of English Common Law.

Calico, that's no way to talk to Mally.
Coersive Control didn't suddenly materialise out of thin air a few years ago. It has been a serious problem (for both sexes) for a long time. It is a shame that it took the Legislators so long to recognise the fact.

Did you know that no-one had PTSD before 1970?
Retro, it's the "unlawful" and "without justification " that is in doubt. Not all killings are murder. I can't defend what she did... but I have no idea if her mindset at the time or how desperate she might have been. That needs to be decided by people who know a lot more about it.
I doubt Retro will stay, Tilly....he usually flounces when I put in an appearance....... shame really.....x
