//Spinning at its very worst" as some would say.//

I did say it AOG and I stand by it.

Whether anyone likes it or not she was eligible to vote. The motion was passed not because of her vote but on a collection of votes.
All of those who voted to try to stop no-deal, because they have no shame at denying the referendum result, cast a deciding vote. Whether she should've been part of the voting or not, is a different issue; but one worth debating nevertheless.

I trust these are still all indicative votes. I suspect the public doesn't really need it indicated how out of touch with democracy and morality MPs, as a group, are: they already know.

AOG - why not castigate Clarke,Greening, etc? You could say their vote carried the motion.

On another thread you stated 'what if it was Trump or Thatcher' instead of Corbyn.

You can't have it all ways!
Don't know about the clocks going forward by an hour at the weekend. They seem to have gone back by 300 years in the House Of Commotions.
AOG - // She should have never been allowed to vote, never mind entering the House of Commons. //

But she is allowed - that's the law.

// Without her vote, the motion would not have passed. //

Or without any one of any of the other votes, so singling her out is 'spin' in its purest form.
Question Author
//Did she listen to the debate previously held?//

I don't know if she did but in any case whatever the debate we have seen many MP's on all sides of the House changing courses to suit their own agendas and not honouring their manifesto pledges...
Seems that she is becoming a dab hand at perverting the course of justice.
Disgraceful DM headline. It makes out as if she waited to see how everyone else had voted and then swung the result which is clearly tosh. Unfortunately the DM mouth frothing brigade will ignore this and go into full 'Gammon' mode.
"Without her vote, the motion would not have passed."

I doubt that's so, AOG. Without her vote it would have been a tie. That would have left it to Mr Speaker to cast his deciding vote - and we can only guess what way that would have gone.

"I trust these are still all indicative votes."

No, OG, this was not an "indicative" vote. It was a vote to pass a bill of legislation. It will be put before the Lords tomorrow and is expected to receive Royal Assent on Monday.
NJ, there was one tied vote and the speaker cast his vote with the government noes.
"NJ, there was one tied vote and the speaker cast his vote with the government noes."

Yes danny, that was on an amendment to allow (yet another) round of indicative votes on alternative ways forward. Mr Speaker voted with the Noes "as is precedent". But we all know what Mr Speaker thinks of precedents when it comes to votes that really matter.
Very true NJ.
no, she was just one - entirely legitimate - voter.
No AG, it's probably not reasonable to single her out. But it's Oh So Tempting!
-- answer removed --
In that case Judge we would have rightly blamed the odious Bercow for the resulting betrayal of democracy. By exercising a right to vote whilst serving a sentence for criminal behaviour, and doing his work for him we can therefor blame her. :))
Question Author
//That would have left it to Mr Speaker to cast his deciding vote//

Yes,NJ,that's why I referred to Bercow earlier.Incidentally,he fielded a few questions after the tied vote and I think he referred to the last time this happened was in '93 over the Social Chapter.

Ladybirder - some undoubtedly tempted yes!
She's a criminal, should be kicked out imo !
I certainly agree with the outrage that she is in the House at all.
Question Author
Jim,such is the wheel of fate.

If the vote had been held in May she may not have had the chance.Rules are rules though...
