Has passed initial humans saftey tests.

The once-daily pill contains hormones designed to stop sperm production.

Men - Would you take them?

Women - would you prefer your man to be on birth control?

The thing is.. men can make 100 women pregnant a day, but a woman can only get pregnant once every nine months.

It makes sense for the male, or the seed spreader to be controlled, surely?

However saying that, i'd never put any hormone control into my body and i'd never force the Ms to either bun that.

I'm with the majority on this, in a stable relationship it may have some merit.
And for a single man who doesn't want to get a woman pregnant, Mamya.
I agree with hc. It is totally fair and right that men should also be able to control their own fertility if they want to. Personally, I would never rely on a man taking it myself and would take mine too... but men should have more of a choice too.
Sorry hc, yes of course that too, as you stated along with barrier methods.
Yes, I think it's fair to say that most men don't like barrier contraception to put it mildly, so it frees a man up to have control over his own fertility and also for men not to have to risk getting ensnared by women getting deliberately pregnant who say they are on the pill. I think it'll be very emancipating for men hopefully. x

The only reason i'd be against taking one is due to the unknown affects it will have on hormones, so behaviour and mood.

I know for a fact a lot of women who are on birth control specifically to help with period pain have hormone issues, as well as subtle depression. I'd not want that

Do you have a study that shows that information please?
The previous male pill had half the side effects that the female one does and was discontinued because men weren't prepared to tolerate them. The alternative for women is worse, so I think the male pill will have to be pretty much perfect. The female one affects sex drive hugely, but is rarely given as a warning. Interesting :-)
I thought we men already had a little blue pill for down there.....Viagra. You'd need two, three or ten of those, spath, if you are going to impregnate 100 women in a day.
And a job :-)

A study that shows the females i know and talk to? No, of course not.
Question Author
have "hormone issues, as well as subtle depression" FROM the pill, which they're taking to help with menstruation cramps.

Just to make it more clear what i meant.
That is not what you said - but OK

Quit acting hostile. It is what i said, you just couldn't catch my drift.
Who's hostile - I asked a question thats all.
Question Author
the fact you ask'd for a study to provide info about my personal knowledge on the people i know, seemed to me rather hostile

I may not have worded it well, but what i meant is rather obvious.

It's all to do with prostaglandin

Here you go RR

"Your GP may try you on the combined oral contraceptive pill. This can ease period pain "

I know a lot of women on the pill, who say due to it, are now subtly depressed and think this is due to their hormone imbalance.

A number of these ladies that i know came off of the pill, and are much happier in their day to day life.
