I am saying nothing at this stage - I think the report, and the result of the case, says it all.

Is there a question?
Indeed it does. No doubt one of his far flung supporters who have no idea what he really stands for will bail him out for the £20k.

If you like -

What are your thoughts on this?

OK?
erm...

er

oh, isn't he.
Can't say I'm shocked or horrified.
You might want to dial back on the passive aggression, andy.

I might … if I had used it … but since I merely posted a News story and invited comment, I can't see any 'passive aggression' to 'dial back on'.

But thanks for your input anyway - if you have any observations on the report, rather than the way I posted it, that would assist the debate.

No, nor me, but I bet 'Tommy Robinson' is!!!
Start one of them crowdfunding pages Tommy, I'll donate.
Cheeky mare, couldn't remember her name 30s after reading it, everyone knows Tommy.
Still, I expect she'll be well rewarded for her 'work' like the other chinless wonder.

I assume your epithet is aimed at the judge?

You have your opinion on the 'fame' of 'Tommy Robinson' and she has hers - the fact that hers differs from yours does not really deserve your insulting her for acting as she sees fit in her remit as a court judge.
He was with a group of men drinking beer but the report doesn’t say that anyone else was asked to leave which suggests that he was singled out because he was recognised. Therefore the judge is mistaken. He is as well
Known as he thinks he is.
Ey up! Naomi’s crystal ball has some new batteries!
No crystal ball Zacs. Just common sense.
//One officer told the court that he did not know who Robinson was.

Sergeant Paul Street told Peterborough County Court he did not know who Mr Yaxley-Lennon was at the time and thought the name referred to an '80s football hooligan'//

Is this the same officer who policed many EDL marches?

Not very good at his job is he.
The aggressive cop who frogmarched him out of town claimed he had no idea who he was.
It's a sad state of affairs in this country if a senior officer can say to a sergeant, 'Go down to that pub and kick that bloke and his kids out and make sure they get the next train out of town' and he replies 'Jawohl mein kommandant'.
It could happen to you.

I read the report somewhat differently.

It would appear from the officer's evidence that 'Tommy', as usual, lost no opportunity to turn a conversation with a police officer into a 'news report' for his website, and I think we can reasonably assume that stance 'Tommy' would be taking once his camera phone was out of his pocket - and recording.

As the officer advised, that turns a conversation into a pantomime, and given that it is again reasonable to assume that 'Tommy' would be being typically loudly vocal about the perceived injustice he was receiving.

The officer again not unreasonably identifying him as the lead mouthpiece of a group of leery intoxicated football fans acted in the interests of defusing a potentially difficult situation by removing what he saw as the main cause of potential trouble.

That makes 'Tommy Robinson' just one more mouthy yob sounding off in a loud voice for the benefit of his friends on a Saturday afternoon, it doesn't need him to be 'famous' to have received the response he did from the officer - just what he is - a football yob with a big mouth and an over-inlfated sense of his own importance.
If Mr Lennon expects to not get hassled by the fuzz after his past misdemeanours, then Mr Lennon is a bigger eejit than I already thought he was. I see he’s appealing the conviction which should be interesting.

If you read my assessment of the incident, you may see it slightly differently, although I doubt it.

You are also assuming that 'Tommy' was targeted, which again speaks to the nonsense that he is 'famous' enough to be a target - when the police have more important things to do on a match day, than giving 'Tommy Robinson' any more self-generated publicity to feed his planet-sized ego.
Well, this thread is certainly upping his "well-knowness".

If he could learn not to turn being spoken to by a police officer about being loud and lairy in a pub, as a platform for his thin-skinned self-righteous paranoiac nonsense by getting his phone our to film it, he would probably find himself left alone to drink in peace.

Wot, not attention???? Perish the thought!!!!!!!!
