that's how the headline reads - but it's not how it was reported on TV last night, nor indeed is it said in the text of the article. The police are investigating not the refusal, but threats made after the event. and the driver wasn't dismissed for refusing to transport poppies, but for falsifying his job card.

all very strange, eh?

I care enough to not want the site i use, and the world i live in, to become a dirt hole.

PP seems to get it.
Spath, you care enough to criticise one so why not the other? Wherever it comes from prejudice is prejudice, isn't it? Or is prejudice not what you're really objecting to?
If you wish to see what i object.. Maybe just give the thread a re-read now it's got this far, that can sometimes be quite eye opening.
Naomi, try and figure out how many times the word Muslim is rote on this thread, and compare that to how many times it is in the news article provided. That behaviour is vile.
I've read the thread. If it comes from a source you don't object to you're happy to support prejudice.
you still waking up? You're twisting this oddly.
I'm not twisting it at all. The taxi driver in question, for whatever reason, refused to take the poppies. Therefore he is prejudiced.
No, you are...

"Whose prejudice would that be? People here - or the bloke who refused to take the poppies?"

"People here. "

So you know what i'm referring to. Else why ask? So to then start talking about "The taxi driver in question" when i'm specifically talking about peoples attitudes on this thread, implied at 09:40 makes what you're currently doing, trollish behaviour.
And i'm sure i'm not alone in my thoughts regarding the "oh it's not racism cus Muslims aint a race" bigoted prejudice.
Spath, careful. You’re over-stepping the line with that accusation. If you’re unhappy when your posts are scrutinised, don’t post stuff that reeks of blatant double standards.
i'm not sure you can tell people to be careful with revealing how they feel, Naomi. You should respect how you've made me feel. And for anyone's reference, it's all here to read and view. I've not any need to be careful.
Yes, spath, I can - and I did. You have no business accusing long-term members here of trolling. They don't. As for 'respect', take your own advice and show some respect for others. People have their opinions but contrary to your claim they are not turning this site into a 'dirt hole'.
I never called you a troll. I called you out for trollish behaviour.

You were digressive to my points which were well laid out for you.

My point of view is supported with my comments at 09:46 where i felt you were twisting what i was saying.

I didn't even comment on the taxi driver so how do you know that my standards are doubled?
Did the taxi driver assume the religion of the badges?
Spath. I remember Barrack Room Lawyers; you might, too.

There are a fair few round here, aren’t there.
Oh i say ;)

I don't like talking back to my elders(long-term members) or upsetting anyone but i also wish to stand my ground to make it clear the position i'm coming from and the points i'm trying to make without them being warped into things i don't mean.
Spath, How do I know you have double standards? Because I asked who you regard as prejudiced – and you told me.
Sorry Naomi, i got of the merry go round on the last ride.. I only bought a single ticket.
Off you go then.
Spath. If it was me, I’d give you the last word, but she NEVER does.
