urghh
It's hard to say anything without being judgemental or potentially sounding or appearing racist
Who are the usual suspects?
1. Who they?
2. Anyone is free to join/comment on these programmes.
2b. Why would you want to; apart from just being awkward, of course?
You know what to do: try it.
Whether it would be deemed ‘racist’ or not would probably depend on what it discussed and whether it only allowed white people to participate. Plainly blackchat, whether you think it is a good idea it not, is not exclusive to black people.
//“We don’t have enough TV that represents [black British people],” said Andy Amadi, the 27-year-old founder of the controversial British web series BK Chat (pronounced “back chat”).//

How do you want your web series pronounced?

There's a lot of choice out there.

well I see you are all avoiding the issue as expected. Clearly the "who are the usual suspects" type twee little queries are answered here, look know further!. If there was a white only chat show you know full well you'd all be pebble dashing your keyboards with organic peace porridge. Try and be at least a little honest with yourselves eh?.

know = no
LoL....
Not turning out as you hoped, eh, TGT?

The trouble is, you have tried to illustrate an 'imbalance' where no imbalance is occuring.
These programmes are not solely for black people so why should anyone want to create any solely for white people?
If there was a white only show it's be ***, like loose women.
There must be many web series around that I have never heard of or encountered and certainly don't know the background to all(if any) of them, so usual or not I won't be jumping up and down or screaming over this one or indeed any new one launched.
The cast of friends..

JTT: "Not turning out as you hoped, eh, TGT? " - it's exactly as I expected. I have just publicly confirmed that among TROB racism is fine as long as it's the "correct" way round. Thank you for verifying your prejudice for me. We all know the convulsion that would have occurred if one word in that article was substituted with another.
You've done no such thing, but don't let that rain on your parade I guess.
No, TGT.
You have failed to establish that there is *any* racism in this matter.

These channels are open to all, although they may be hosted by black people.
I watch many programmes hosted by, primarily, white people and don't see those as being racist, either.
Question Author
it may or may not be racist in itself, but that's not the point. You all know that if it was a white only chat show, you'd have screamed "racism" at it. That's the point here.

JTT: "I watch many programmes hosted by, primarily, white people and don't see those as being racist, either. " - even if it was billed as a white only show? really? come on!
You are correct, the other way round and there would be 'outrage' even though anyone could watch it.

"I watch many programmes hosted by, primarily, white people and don't see those as being racist,"

Well they are not since the country is predominantly white and they are representing the true demographic, a fact that seems to be missed by anyone living in London or other major cities.

I suspect the media's obsession with diversity that ends up portraying a demographic that doesnt exist actually feeds groups like the BNP.
That's your trouble........you create a hypothetical scenario and then get all bent out of shape because people don't agree that they would behave in the manner you have chosen to believe they would.

It is unlikely that *any* channel would broadcast or be allowed to broadcast a programme which had purposely set out to be racist, or to deliberately exclude people from contributing based solely on their skin color.
Question Author
It's called a "black chat show" F\FS! ok, if I started a show called a "white chat show" are you saying you would not consider that racist by virtue of the title for a start?
