I know who's side I'm on but I'll wait and see which way the thread goes.

It is though.
'Tis.

There should be a law against it!
Talbot....you do lots of copying and pasting and don't even put in quotation marks.
I occasionally do it too, if it is absolutely required but not on almost every reply.

Apologies Spicerack for digressing.
I don't tell anyone that is confused by it that it isn't confusing.

My opinion is that if you have followed the thread then you will know who has said what.
I know but you still have to read some of it to realise. And the fact that each point raised is answered separately.
Talbot - // My opinion is that if you have followed the thread then you will know who has said what. //

If I respond to a post, and someone else posts first, while I am writing my reply, then it will be confusing, because my post will not make sense.

It also avoids saying "That was to So-and-so..." because another post has made it confusing as to who is being addressed.

If you find it confusing, fine, and for those who don't, that's fine too - no need to snipe about it, is there.
Tilly - // Oh! Sorry, Andy. I missed that. //

No problem at all.

If I had posted that without the cut-and-paste, no-one would know what I was talking about, because your post is now on the previous page, a quick C & P explains easily - that's why I do it.
You could just address your answer to the person you're answering.
What? am I still me, who's eating this chicken... I'm so confused.
Yes, Arksided, the longer this thread stretches on, the more it becomes to resemble Dali's "Melting Watch":)

Indeed.

I do believe that the italics were reintroduced so when copying you could quote using them like in this manner.
Question Author
Let's push this tired old thread over 300 so I can get the mystery prize.
I reckon the number of replies that a thread gets should show up in 'Latest Posts'.
For instance, a man of my calibre would have little time for the nonsense in Chatterbank. However, if an innocuous looking thread had hundreds of answers, I'd know 'it' had all kicked off and would be worth a look.
I'll give it a boot in the direction you want Spicerack.
Maybe even a second one if all and sundry promise to let it die a peaceful death once it reaches 300

Brilliant.
Now read the thread again and see who actually says they get confused by it.
"Here we go round the mulberry bush
The mulberry bush, the mulberry bush"

Sigh
Talbot - Nah, I'm fine here, thanks.
You're wrong that's why you don't want to.
This is Sparta!
