// Perhaps Welby should re-read his Bible: "Render unto Caesar..."//
yeah oops someone else has read his bible on a sunday

but ..... the quote above is usually wheeled out in answer to the question - as a christian, should I pay my parking fine? or as a fundamentalist is VAT still payable?

I prefer my one

yeah yeah - I know - the new divorce bill and 'what god has joined let no man put asunder'. - that last one I suggest is 'above my pay grade'.

(hey Jackie - three bible quotes in the land of the godless (er this thread that is!) on a sunday is good going huh?)

oh -warning: technical answer coming up
// And yes, I saw that but can terms and conditions be changed? I would think that would fall foul of the FCA.//
( answer: I just cannot be arrissed to think about that on a sunday)

yeah - the answer is yeah - a debt is a "chose in action" (*) and can be traded. bought and sold as anyone who has had a debt collector around knows.
and the ts and cs can be varied by agreement between the new parties (*)
and - "I have bought your debt - would you like to pay less?" would almost certainly elicit - yes
There are reqts - to be a moneylender(*) you have to be registered wiv da ( oops accently slipping there) local council. And that is just filling out a form - agreeing to abide by current legislation (*)
.

(*) foo! what dat den? innit!
I have no time for Welby.
