They should have made it very clear when you ordered it, jenny

I have had 2 replacement BT hubs and did not have to pay for them, because the original was deemed faulty.
I think your problem was, that you couldn't telephone when your broadband was slow, so they weren't testing it themselves.
If their operatives check it and find a fault, they usually offer a new hub free of charge. I think you requested the new hub yourself, so they deemed it a
Sorry- deemed it a purchase.
Don't know what happened there!!
Question Author
ah well nothing in life comes free LOL
Question Author
I'm just remembering on the chats online with their operatives - one of them went away for about 20 minutes and told me to wait and they came back and said the problem lay with the hub because it was so old and they would send me a new one but as you say they never named a price
Contact them again, Jenny.
Did you keep copies of your online chats? This might help you.
Question Author
Before | looked in here again - I decided to contact them again and they are going to waive £50 charge since it was a replacement. so thanks all again.
Question Author
margaret - how do you keep copies of online chats if I needed to use them again
Good! I should think so, too.
I have such a hub. Doesn't stop my connection going down. Either they aren't so good, or the BT Internet access isn't so good. Connections should remain up permanently.
Question Author
well another bit of news. When I reviewed my bill again - they had charged me for delivery of the hub - £7.99 and also for "providing" me broadband which I have. providing cost £18.99 something like that. right away the online advisory waived that too.

most of my life I never queried bills per se - I guess because it was on the phone so I never bothered but now if | can I will query by email.

oh margaret - I just controlled A and cntrl C of the online chats and then copied into Abiword - now I have copies.
You could have bought a cheaper new one on Ebay as I did and probably have got post free.
Question Author
crap - as it turns out - it didn't cost me a penny.
Glad you did the online chat copies jj. I do mine on my iPad, so wouldn't have been able to help you very well. Would probably just have recommended copy and paste.
