City hall have given the green light to a crowdfunded blimp depicting an angry Donald Trump throwing a temper tantrum in a nappy, meaning it will be flying over Parliament Square on the day of his visit.

Do you think this is a valid piece of satire or do you think this should have been disallowed so as not to annoy the President?

ichkeria, what apologists?
I neither approve nor disapprove of this but i would like an answer to my earlier question. How is it that the blame is being laid solely at the feet of Khan? Was it a tied vote at 13 all and he had the deciding vote? Or is it simply convenient, and political, to blame him?
this is an embarrassment for us all if this goes ahead. Once again the nastiness of the left is demonstrated. They are happy with African despots visiting but the leader of the free world? I doubt it will go ahead, someone will file an appeal, Gina Miller perhaps?

/// I'm sure they would not have the same concerns about an EU leader on a visit to GB being treated in the same way , in light of this whole Brexit panto ///

There have been many EU leaders visit No 10, no such infantile protest as far as I am aware.

We pro-Brexits are much more grown up.
I think it’s a bit childish, but I can’t work out whether I actually think it’s a bad thing.

It’s like seeing someone organise a practical joke against a school bully.

I think on balance...no. I feel uneasy about it, but I can’t work out why.
hereIam, //I bet he'll be secretly fuming to be fair and I wouldn't blame him ..//

I seriously doubt that. He’s been on the receiving of flack from idiots every day since he took office – and in the run up to the election too. He’s no fool – and fools don’t phase him.

Trump is annoyed by all kinds of trivial things. It's one of the many reasons he is unsuitable to be President. He goes on late-night twitter meltdowns about his portrayal on comedy shows in the US. The chances of this annoying Trump are not insignificant at all. He doesn't have the grit to put up with being mocked.
Naomi24, after reading numerous threads, especially in NEWS, on this site, I think that some people have an agenda to use up their daily quota of the over-used "ist" suffix.

What's 'nasty' about it?

It's a bit childish, I agree. But 'nasty'?
^ as I said, he’s been on the receiving of flack from idiots every day since he took office
He can always get his fav news station to technically remove the blimp and say it's fake news. And as far as making this country a laughing stock? Way OTT.
sanmac, you could be right.

Yes but the difference being we are not at school, leave the pratical jokes to the school kids.
if that baloon comes Windsor way I will shoot it down with my shotgun.
aog, quite right.

Which is part of being a powerful person, naomi.

If you're powerful you're gonna get mocked for your behaviour as a powerful person. If he can't take that then he should not have run in the first place.

He can either put up with it or try to forcibly shut up everyone who mocks him. I'm assuming you're not in favour of the latter...
I’m not in favour of witch hunts, Krom.
Question Author
Nor am I.
Question Author
I am in favour of powerful people being mocked for their behaviour, though.
Krom, And yet where he's concerned you take every opportunity to spout pure vitriol. Curious.
