Italy is refusing to allow a boat with over 600 migrants to dock at it's ports. https://news.sky.com/story/italy-shuts-ports-to-rescue-ship-carrying-over-600-migrants-11401125. Good on Italy. I bet you ask those migrants where they're aiming for, I bet they say England!!

Well quite a few Brits find Egypt and Tunisia are still okay to visit for holidays
Wasn't there a recent warning to not go there? A terrorist attack is imminent...

//The minors are aged between 13 and 17 and come from Eritrea, Ghana, Nigeria and Sudan, according to a journalist on the ship//

Let's take a minor from Ghana, Spathiphyllum.

Why was he so desperate to leave Ghana? Is there a war on in Ghana?
What route did he take to get to Libya?
Why did he leave Ghana and cross through at least two countries in order to go a country in the grip of civil war (your description)?
Wasn't there a recent warning to not go there? A terrorist attack is imminent...

I’d say that applies right across Europe, really.
I recall one of the last ‘children’ that arrived in the UK in similar circumstances ended on the naughty step for something a little more than stealing sweets from the school tuck shop......

spath- there is no doubt the vast majority on board these boats are adult males. There also quite a few males who claim to be 13-17 but as few if any will have papers i think experience tells us that many of these may actually be adults. Those organising the sailings know that it is always helpful to include a few pregnant women on there as this puts more pressure on the authorities to offer help
Yes Chilldoubt, one migrant got so much stick and racial abuse, he took it upon himself to lash out. So now on, the UK leaves people to die in the ocean in case it upsets the locals.

Well, they aren’t currently in our waters spath so not(yet) our problem though I’ll wager they had their hearts set on Dover as a final destination.

As I’ve said before on many similar threads(and has been pointed out) the vast majority are young, fit men.
Just like my grandfather did in WWII along with millions of others there comes a point where one has to stand up to tyranny and fascism. Sadly, the price of democracy throughout time has always been at a cost of young men of fighting age, that is the way of the world.
If these people want freedom and democracy in their country(which may take decades, so be it) then they’ll have to bloody well fight for it, you can’t run forever!
Grow a spine, show some backbone and make a stand, it’s the only option in the long run.

Oddly spath there was no mention of ‘stick and abuse’ at his trial but there was a lot about how he wished to avenge the death of his father in Iraq.
If he was fighting back against his bullies as you allege, why did he choose to target 400 innocent people on a commuter train?
Very odd!

Yes, one man and his fists vs the milita! Thats like me marching up to Houses of Parliament and expect them to listen to me, OR it's like me going in and killing them, then getting arrested for terrorism?
——————
Oh dear! We already live in a democratic society spath, you’ve no need to kill hundreds of MP’s in order to bring it about!

If the inhabitants of other countries want it at home they’ll have to do what’s necessary to bring it about, won’t they?
You see, Spath should have been made the Peace Envoy to the Middle East, not Blair.
and try not to bomb peoples fathers.

I’m not aware of the circumstances of the lads fathers death.
He may have been an innocent(but we do our utmost NOT to target civilians indiscriminately as this psycho did) or retreating from the illegal invasion of Kuwait, who knows but feel free to do some research by all means.
I do wonder what the current bunch of loonies (i.e. those in these columns expressing their rabid anti-immigrant views) would have done in September 39.

I mean, which side would they have plumped for?
I think some on these pages would have instantly surrendered...wouldn't want the Nazi's to think they were xenophobic, would you.
