No that's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard and will only enhance their fame and their rather crap music, the Police will just make them a fortune if they try to do this and I'm not entirely sure it's even possible to enforce. I think it's important we take these people's power away from them and if we actually had more police on the streets that would be a lot easier, but then you have the Tories to thank for that not being the case.

You can't ban a particular style of music just because of the lyrics of some songs in that style. You could sing the same lyrics in folk song, jazz, opera ,Country & Western or Gregorian Chant. It is the words that are offensive not the style of music that accompanies them.

Excellent application of the crowbar there.

A typical leftie response, rather blame the Tories than the mainly black murderous gangs that are roaming our streets.

But I am interested, how would Labour address this situation?

Being old and white I had no idea what drill music was.

Calls to ban it were just the same when rap came out. Glorifying violence and street life.

The police should get a better handle on the violent gangs and reasons behind it.

As said banning it will just send it underground and glorify the people involved.

Okay then ban the words, it won't be the first time that the spoken word has been banned in this country.
..and that is stupid and self defeating too... do you really want people's thoughts gagged- because if that is approved it really won't stop there.
If you don't have a genre of this type then where do you imagine the reformed heroes of tomorrow, yoof leadahs, talking heads for the six o'clock news and street MPs are going to come from?

As with all contents of the bowel, it will pass.

AOG, Some of the lyrics / words could be classed as 'Hate Crime', so the opportunity to prosecute is there if the police and CPS were to choose to act. Don't expect to see it though.

/// I think labour would promote a world that was nicer to live in for underprivileged black youths ///

Ah!! Those poorly done by black people again, don't you think that some whites also have a bum deal?
It is remarks such as yours that does more harm to racial harmony.

You can't ban a style of music because it is adopted by disaffected youths who are desperate to belong to and identify with a peer group.

As always, education is the answer, teaching people a sense of self-respect, and a respect for others, and the ways to form proper family bonds to prevent youths from looking for a hierarchical structure away from the home, which often means a gang.
Bring old and white I assumed drill music was what the dentist played you so you relaxed.
