She called a black person an ape. Yes.
Apart from the " sleeping pills" she did in fact think the lady was white" !!!!!!!
Gail from Corra has had the planet of the apes treatment the pic is all over Facebook... An Ab member thought it funny enough to give it an airing on here.
Is the Gail not ET, Talbot?
I've seen both GG
I am quitesurprised it was ever rebooted
I'm disappointed, I used to love it back in the day and was looking forward to it being shown here. Not sure how she thought she'd get away with that in this pc day and age.
I rnjoyed it then but towards the end, it had its day I think.....like many comedies, of its time. I am enjoying the Will and Grace reboot though
Apparently she's always been considered to be a bit of a loose cannon, and ABC knew that they were taking a chance. Yes, people lost their jobs, but they may not have wanted to continue working with her anyway.
Reaction akin to throwing the baby out with the bathtub, and redecorating the bathroom. PC madness strikes again.
Never been a fan of US shows ....so it's of no sense tome. Trouble is...no one can post anything really without considering racist, ageist, anything-gist comments! It's all been made too touchy and ripe for people to claim an ism!!. For gawds sake people lighten up, make light of your problems don't take them to heart.... Don't jump at the slightest hint of an ism....go with the flow...oh but hey that's not on today is it. You're not 'en trend' unless you're suing or contesting this or that. Worra a soddin world this is...
ABC may have acted in a highly moral way but it was just shortcutting to the inevitable outcome. If they'd kept on with the show, viewing figures would have dropped, advertisers would have withdrawn sponsorship and the outcome would have been the same but a lot more messy on the way. So yes, ABC did the right thing whichever way you look at it.

It doesn’t work like that.

It’s about protecting the brand. If ABC took no action, then they would be seen by some to be guilty by proxy.

I don’t think that what she said about Soro could be ignored, let alone the Valerie Jarrett insults.

Black people really don’t need to be called apes in 2018, and Jewish people really don’t need people tweeting that they lead fellow Jews to the Nazis in the Second World War. Especially when it’s mathematically impossible.
Even the makers of her sleeping medication has commented...

//The drug manufacturer Sanofi felt compelled to clarify that one of its most popular medications, the sedative Ambien, does not cause racism. They tweeted that “while all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication”.

The company’s statement comes after Roseanne Barr partly blamed the drug for the series of racist tweets which led to her sitcom being cancelled.//

\\Also, those words couldn't be directed at anyone unless they were black. It wouldn't make sense. Racists frequently use the ape thing to attack black people. They wouldn't write something like that about a white person, or someone from China. It wouldn't make sense.//

Jeremy Clarkson was forever being called an orangutan by his colleges.

... and it's just a coincidence when monkey noises are made when a black player gets the ball at a football match. It could just as easily be a white player. It never is, but it could be.

No. Roseanne Barr knows exactly what her tweet meant and that's why she describes it as "unforgivable" ...

You’re not seriously comparing the fact. That a bloke on a telly show is called an orangutan with this?

You get the difference, right?

The fact that when black people are called apes or monkeys by racists, it’s not done with any affection at all.
an incredibly stupid thing to say..ABC have to protect their brand
Another loud mouthed obnoxious person has to cop it on the chin.

Shame it has affected her colleagues.
