As a matter of fact, JD, TTT is being disrespectful to his audience -- because this is far from the first time he's been asked to stop with the slang names, be it for Sturgeon or Corbyn, and the mockney slang. To continue in the face of such discouragement -- including, for that matter, from AB;s leadership -- is nothing other than disrespectful.
It's not so much that Scots are all red-hot for Independence (even though a great many still are); it's that they are eager for the *effects* of Independence. Not being thwarted in their own designs by the vested interests of a supervising power. Being able to take a mandate from the people to act in a certain way, and not have to compromise the popular will because of inimical opinions expressed by Westminster.

The problem for Mrs Murrell is that she does bear a remarkable physical resemblance to “Wee Jimmy Krankie”. Of course she cannot do anything about that, but she adds to her misfortune by uttering similar inanities to the diminutive Mrs Tough. Wee Jimmy (the real one) has an excuse – she makes her living as part of a comedy act. Mrs Morrell does not – she is supposed to be a serious politician leading a serious party but many readers may struggle to see the difference.
Her decision to enter politics was said to have been inspired by Mrs Thatcher. At the time of her administration unemployment was on the rise in Scotland (as it was almost everywhere else) and Mrs Morrell (or Miss Sturgeon as she then was) believed it was unfair that Scotland should be ruled by a Conservative government which they had not elected. Leaving aside the fact that in the UK the electorate elects MPs and not governments (which, as a lawyer, she should have been well aware) she also overlooked the fact that in the UK almost all the time people are being governed by a government which over half of them did not elect (and a good bit more than that if those who did not vote at all are considered). Hardly a very rational thought process to use as a basis for launching into a new career.
Of course the biggest threat to her credibility is in the form of the ridiculous policy the party which she leads has of believing that an independent Scotland can be a prosperous and successful nation. That belief is built on a number of highly dubious assumptions. Not the least of these is that a newly independent Scotland will be welcomed immediately and unconditionally in to the EU if not fully, at least enjoying some sort of “associate membership”). All these assumptions collectively seem to overlook the fact that it is only the vast sums of English taxpayers’ dosh which make their way nightly over the Cumbrian Fells and into the banks in Glasgow and elsewhere north of the border that keeps the shooting match alive. Once they dry up she may find that her “friends” in the EU will have enough on their plate coping with the loss of the UK’s massive contributions to their various welfare schemes. The last thing they will have in mind in rescuing a failed embryo state that brought its demise firmly on itself.
The Scots generally are sensible. They know which side their bread is buttered and if asked again they would probably reject Independence by an even larger margin than they did in 2014. But this woman's continued drum-beating about her sincere but misguided life-long ambition to see Scotland leave the Union (aided and abetted by Mr Blair's ridiculous devolution arrangements) is having a detrimental effect on the well being of her constituents.
Not only that, she gets on my nerves something chronic.

Strange. When the Scots talk of doing that they are lauded and praised for their determination and "bravery". When 52% of the UK electorate did just that in June 2016 (in the above substitute "Brussels/Strasbourg" for "Westminster" they were (and still are) insulted and derided and accused of not knowing what they voted for. It's a funny old world.
