I was sickened to read, today that a young sperm whale, was washed up on a Spanish beach and was found to have 64lb's of plastic waste in its gut.
The rubbish was laid out on the beach and appeared to consist of mostly carrier and bin bags.
It just beggars belief that this careless throw away society still continues.

It's going to continue for a long time yet. Even if the UK becomes more aware of waste in the sea, the rest of the world hasn't.
I don't think the UK has ever dumped plastic into the sea, at least not yet..but with our infrastructure, services and culture heading for third world status one never knows.

This is utterly heartbreaking and something that won't be solved for a very long time, if ever.

Trying and succeeding are two different things. I'm afraid a lot more marine life will die until we achieve success and believe me, I hope we do.
