Being a major royal is a real job. You have a 91 year-old lady still working. Minor royals have jobs outside of the royal family. The Duke of Kent and his brother, Prince Michael, were long-serving army officers. The Duke of Gloucester was a full-time architect.

She IS the one who wore the little pink lavvy headdress ( 'fascinator' ) to another wedding innit ? and then auctioned it

They used to but are now retired. Andrew was a helicopter pilot in the RN and Edward ran a production company (not very successfully, I must say).
