Naomi....its sounds more like Trump is having one of his rapid U-turns to me....on this issue like so many others, he shows a remarkable lack of clarity and consistency.
What do you think about his nomination for Federal Judge ? .....do you think that Trump really meant to put this clearly unqualified person forward ?

Bu that is Trump all over: he went to the offices of the New York Times, which he'd previously vilified as an agent of fake news, etc, and called it a becaon of great journalism or some such.
I can see him visiting London and dropping in on the BBC and doing the same. Ditto CNN.
He is a vain, shallow individual, who plays the big crowds for cheers, and courts similar favourable reactions from individuals or organisations when he meets them one to one.

I’m not sure the POTUS (or any world leader) should do it quite as frequently and with quite such gay abandon as Trump does. Anyone who still believes in his ability to perform with the dignity and gravitas the role demands after his u turns must be as crazy as he is.

Naomi....he shouldn't have nominated him in the first place, and that is the point of this post.
Someone who made it to being POTUS shouldn't be making such basic errors as this. The man was his choice and he turned out to completely inadequate for the job in question.

YMB....Trump nominated a person for the Federal Court, who clearly isn't qualified for the job, and there isn't egg left on his face ?

Not necessarily. He has one of the biggest economies in the World to run so I would expect him to have minions finding people to nominate(as most Presidents would do)
