Diplomatic protection is not the same as Immunity.

Tish??
You don't have to be a crossword genius to rearrange the letters of Tish!
We are back to the childish disguised expletives a few days after Ed's request?

Thanks for the info.
It is fully explained in the article.
Mamya, I must have missed Ed's request, can you point me towards it?
Yes, I am aware that an abbreviation and an anagram are different.

But I'm sure you get the drift.
It is totally unnecessary, and adds nothing to a thread.
Thanks Mamya, I can always rely on you.

fully explained?? right oh! so why has this not been used in the past to save various bimbo drug smugglers etc?
You wanted an explanation of what was being discussed in the article which you have had.
Question Author
nope just re it again can't see how this works.
One would presume it was not felt that Diplomatic Protection was warranted in those cases.

I have no idea how many times and for what cases this Protection has been afforded.
Read the article fully.

I have how does diplomatic protection get her of jail.
Ask a lawyer, it may not do but it is a tool that hopefully will help.
Nobody is saying that. All it means is that her interests and welfare will be looked after.
Question Author
ok mamys article helps so basically instead of being on holiday she'd in effect be an instrument of the British state. "The broad legal principle is that British diplomats would no longer be representing the interests of a citizen but the interests of their state." - so we'd actually be saying that everything we've said earlier and then denied and everything she has said is in fact cobras and she is a diplomat, ie not a tourist? OR that she is a tourist but so important that she is connected in some way to the British authorities?? Not sure that helps. This may well have been s stunt by Iran now we'll give them the ammo to bang her up as a spy! wonderful!
