He was told 10 times to drop the knives, but failed to do so needing the officer to taser him.

Had he later died from the effects of the taser, his family and friends would have took to the streets demanding action against the police.

When are they going to get tough on knife crime, there have been two fatal stabbings in London this week, the 12 months sentence is a joke.

Well he was jailed for the term allowed for his 'crime' which was carrying a knife. What term do you want given to him?
You obviously know his parents and family to make the comment about taking to the streets so we will have to leave that comment alone given your greater knowledge.
He claimed drink was the cause, for other criminals it may be different reasons they ignore warnings.
Excellent work by the Police there.
Why do these criminals resist arrest?

Probably because they are not too keen on going to jail.

I would have thought that was pretty obvious - ?
Excellent face plant on the pavement. That's got to hurt.
Probably a plethora of reasons but I think Andy has the main one!
His family and friends would have only have had to watch the video!!

They should think about that before committing a crime.

They should then, not complain when they receive injuries through the police having to use force, the amount used is dependant on the amount of resistance they put up.
The police were given no choice other than to tazer him. If he had have died, the bodycam footage would be enough to show family and friends that the action was justified.
The sentence is about right. No one was injurred, and he did not threaten or attack the officers.

Yer! like they are going to believe that, how many time do they insist that the police have edited it?
// They should then, not complain when they receive injuries through the police having to use force //

There is nothing in the article that says he complained about the arrest.
AOG - // They should think about that before committing a crime.//

I have pointed this out numerous times, but it bears repeating.

Thinking ahead to the consequences of your actions requires a level of intelligence and forward thinking that are singularly absent in the mind of the average criminal.

If any criminal pondered the consequences of being caught, they would not be criminals in the first place.

They don't - that's why they get arrested, and then do what they did in the first place - react to immediate circumstances and resist arrest, as this man did here.

Forward thinking and basic criminal behaviour do not exist in the same mind - it's as simple as that.
// how many time do they insist that the police have edited it? //

The bodycams have only just started to be deployed, so I know of no cases where there have been complaints about editing to mislead. The film obviously has been edited because the incodent lated longer than 10 seconds, but the clip release by the police properly represents the incident.

I do not know his parents or family, I take my knowledge from the numorous such incidents that have been reported on from the past.

Perhaps 'bodycams' but other 'cams' have been used extensively in the past.

Showing the criminal throwing out his weapon/drugs etc from a car window.
// numorous such incidents that have been reported on from the past. //

I can only think of the Duggan case which resulted in angry people taking to the streets. In that case, the police version of events differed substantially from eyewitnesses vesrions. With the new bodycams, there is an instant record of exactly what occurs, so hopefully the truth can be assertained almost instantly.
If my memory serves me correctly I think the cases AOG is referring to are US based rather then UK.

///Well he was jailed for the term allowed for his 'crime' which was carrying a knife///

Should have doubled it, he did have a knife in each hand.
We can compare and contrast but the Police have to deal with each case as it arises, on this occasion it was text book.

He's got a while to rethink why he acted as he did.
I completely agree with AOGs implication that all crims should, immediately after commuting an offence, call the police themselves and save us all a Lot of time & money. Brilliant suggestion.
