ISIS have claimed responsibility so the authorities have to investigate the claim, even though they offered not a single scrap of evidence. Saying they are investigating IF he was radicalised does not confirm that he WAS radicalised.

It seems to be that there are still some people that are grimly hanging on to their belief that Paddock was a Muslim after all. Wishful thinking perhaps ?

ISIS have claimed him as a convert to (radical) Islam, if it was to be shown conclusively that this was a lie, then ISIS would look both liars and stupid, something they would want to avoid at all costs, and so far they have never made unfounded claims.
