Why is it unlawful to fight in defence of one's race and nation"?

The murder of Jo Cox was carried out by a lone crazy extremist, and the celebration of her murder was by a few other mentally deranged nutters.

After all there were even some on here who celebrated the death of Margaret Thatcher.

One cannot blame a whole group for the evils of a few.

Now where have I heard that before?
Yes it most likely will drive them underground but that doesnt mean they cant be hunted down and if illegal it is easier to send them down.

AoG. All change should be done through the allot box. Unless you agree with what McDonnell said the other day.
Scottish Dawn is thought to be National Action with a name change. The latter celebrated the murder of an MP, Jo Cox.
Yes, you would wonder why the ban.
I shall endeavour, in future, to post in a more pleasing manner especially for you, douglas.
"Strange how some wish to ban certain groups that have never set off bombs on tubes and buses, or slaughter people going about their peaceful activities."

Do you also think it strange that folk are arrested for threatening violence, rape or murder when they are yet to carry out those actions?

I think the police might be criticised if they said "We knew for months that X been threatening to stab Y to death but he hadn't done it until now so, you know, we didn't do anything..."
AOG, it seems that you support this group and their aims. Is that the case?

/// Those left-wing groups don't take to the streets in balaclavas, hiding behind placards and banners ///

AOG
// the celebration of [Jo Cox's] murder was by a few other mentally deranged nutters. //

I now see where you are going wrong AOG. The celebration was by National Action who were then classified as a terrorist group. So they changed their name to Scottish Dawn. same members, same people, just a name change to avoid the law.

// The group was formed shortly after another group, National Action (NA), was classified as a terrorist organisation after celebrating the murder of Labour MP Jo Cox at the hands of a right wing extremist.

But suspicions that some its followers have simply swapped membership of one extremist organisation for another to circumvent the ban have prompted the Home Office to consider whether the new group should be outlawed too. //

And I am not denying that obvious fact.

Once again carried out by a lone nutter.
Hmmmm.......pictures of American 'Anti-Fas' don't really contradict my point.
"Am just wondering if banning far-right or far left groups would drive them underground and become more difficult for the authorities to keep an eye on? "

Quite possibly. And I remember back in the 1970s when the IRA was actually not illegal as an organisation, the argument that banning them would just encourage them to change their name (!).

No but what I do support is the freedom to protest, especially when other certain groups are allowed to protest against their particular gripes.

If we can't ban a religion, only arrest certain individual supporters of that religion, when they have carried out mass murders on behalf of that said religion, then why can't the same be applied to certain other individuals if they happen to carry out similar crimes, without the need to ban the whole group?
As a patriotic Scot I abhor what both the National Action and Scottish Dawn stand for. They have no place in Scottish Society. They have nothing whatever to do with the SNP.
What are the stated aims of the religion? And what are the stated aims of the banned group of neo-Nazis?

Do yourself a favour and stop publicly supporting this illegal group ...
ANOTHEOLDGIT, I asked the other day which current groups do you think should be proscribed but I don't think you answered me. Do you have any specific, named groups in mind?
They probably don't want Scotland to become a dumping ground for cultural misfits. They just have to be a bit more PC about it.

I am not for the banning of a group who's only crime seems to be the upsetting of the status quo.

This as been seen in the none acceptance by some of Donald Trump as President of the USA, and the result of the EU referendum etc.

It is strange however that some are more afraid of the far-right than they are against the rise of Islamic terrorism.

What is the reason for the rise of the far-right all across Europe?

't is strange however that some are more afraid of the far-right than they are against the rise of Islamic terrorism'

How have you arrived at that ridiculous conclusion?

/// How have you arrived at that ridiculous conclusion? ///

Just by reading past posts on here, from Islamic oppologists and the much more agression shown towards the far-right including bans on them.
Did you mean apologists? And aggresIVE?
